Rufus is in need of a new foster home. As this boy has been with EAPL for a couple of years it's time that he has a new home! Please email eaplevergreen@eapl.com if you can foster him.   I'm Rufus, a/k/a "Roof the Goof."  I don't mean to brag, but I'm handsome.  And I'm a very good boy.  Look deep into my honey-colored eyes and you'll see that I'm a tender-hearted love bug, hoping for some daily sofa snuggle time. My housebreaking is perfect, I sleep quietly through the night, I don't tear things up, and I will love you with my whole heart.  My sleek coat doesn't shed.  While I can be a bit selective about my canine companions, I love to romp and play with my canine foster sister.  I know how to sit, stay, and lay down. I ride great in the car.  My leash manners are excellent most of the time, but if I see a bunny or another dog, I can get worked up and pull and bark.  I'm working on that, and my trainer friend will give us a free session so you can learn the best way to help me calm myself when I get excited.  My foster is the best, but I'm ready for my forever family!  My adoption fee is $250 Put in an application today eapl.com  April 16, 2024, 10:49 am

Story
Finn is a 3 1/2 year old Vizsla mix. He LOVES people and is happiest at home snuggling on the couch or on your lap! He is an incredibly sweet dog who is 100% loyal to his pack. He can be a little leash reactive but has had lots of professional training to work on this. He has great obedience skills as well as recall off leash, and loves playing with our older golden doodle. He does well around children, loves to go camping and run free and would love a nice big back yard. He will require a loving, dedicated family who has experience with dogs and can keep him engaged and active. Unfortunately, his current family had some personal health issues this past year and can no longer give him the care he needs. He has lived in a 2 dog household. He can be selective with certain dogs so needs a slow, proper introduction (though he will need to be in a single dog home). Let us know if you are looking for your next adventure buddy!

Story
Riley is a very loving and playful dog. He is very smart, easily trained, and thrives when he has open space and a job to do. He is highly active and food motivated. We have a baby and no longer have the ability to keep him as active as he would like. He does have bouts of anxiety but he does well in his crate and well when he is at home by himself.

Story
Hi, I'm Dan! I'm a 1 year Pit Bull mix with the most gorgeous green eyes! I came to the shelter at 6 months old with my sister. We were found as strays and unfortunately, were not properly socialized. The shelter is working with me on not barking and being more confident around new people. Once I know you, I'm a sweet and goofy boy. I have a bit of energy as you would expect a pup my age. I like to play with other dogs and I am getting used to walking on a leash. I do good in my kennel overnight when I'm kept on my schedule. I am highly food motivated so the shelter loves to work with me on training, so far I can sit when asked. I keep hearing "good boy," so I think that's good. Would you come and meet me? I know I can charm my way into your life with my beautiful eyes and personality. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1754436##

Story
These are still early days for 18-month-old Hazel as the 45-pound brown beauty accustoms herself to life in her foster home. Sweet, easygoing and calm, she craves attention and LOVE, and adores snuggling and cuddling with her foster mom, resting her head on her, showing her paw for more loving and turning over for tummy rubs. Moderately energetic, she enjoys going for walks, honing her leash skills along the way, playing and picking up a ball, carrying around a pair of socks in her mouth and chewing on bones. Motivated by love and food, Hazel may not know any commands, but she’s very bright and eager to please, accepts all treats gently, and is almost fully crate and house-trained. With much yet to learn and much love to share, Hazel will be happiest in an especially attentive home, preferably with older children, and patient adopters who will complete her training, including her commands, and keep her both active and adored always.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
