Story
My dog gave birth to 6 puppies but unfortunately, we can only keep one. They were born on February 20th, 2023. I've uploaded on all socials and asked everyone I could if they were looking to adopt a new puppy but I haven't had any luck. Please help me find a few loving homes that can financially support these pups. There are 3 females and 2 males. They have been trained to be outside dogs but can easily be trained to be inside dogs as well. They are energetic, love walks, and are playful. If I could keep them all I would but unfortunately that is not the case. :(

Story
Birdie is a loving, loyal and joyful dog. In the morning she wakes up with a cute little smile on her face, because she’s excited to get pets from her people. If we take too long to let her out in the morning, she’ll start tippy tapping her paws to show us how excited she is. She loves to chase squirrels, watch birds, chew bones, and take long naps in the sun. She’s very friendly with people and handles herself well around children and babies. She is incredibly intelligent and very food motivated and thus can be trained to learn all sorts of commands. She’s worked with a pair of trainers since we adopted her, one of which is her dog walker, and he reinforces her training and obedience daily. Birdie needs a kind and patient owner, who sees her for the loving and intelligent animal she is. Her new owners should be active, or at least able to exercise her thoroughly. Ideally she would not be left for prolonged periods indoors. (If you’re in the Berkeley area, we can pass along the contact info of her current dog walker Juan. He is like her third parent and they have a very special relationship). Judging from the scars on her nose and paws when we adopted her, we believe Birdie may have had negative encounters with dogs in her past. She is fearful of other dogs, regardless of their size, and would do best as an only dog and in an environment where there aren't too many dogs around. Birdie is microchipped, spayed, and current on shots. Her adoption fee is $100 and includes all of her supplies (her beds, many toys, kongs, lick mats, leashes, sweaters, bowls, medications, toothbrush, etc.). If you’re interested in adopting Birdie, please contact Anderson @ 480-677-9147 or mfaase4@gmail.com. **This is a courtesy listing.**

Story
Hi I'm Shady!I came to the shelter sooo hungry. I was skin and bones and homeless. A nice person brought me to the shelter where staff offered me all the food and support that I needed to get healthy again. Now I love to run around and do zoomies. I am very playful and love toys. I love the volunteers and going for walks and getting loved on and showered with pets! I would be best as an only dog or with a well-matched submissive female my size. I can be a bit intense around other dogs so a dog to dog would be important to set me up for success. I am moderate energy so would be okay in a less active home. Shelter staff is unaware of how I am with cats. I would love a family to call my own! If you are interested in me, please ask for a meet and greet!March 26, 2024, 8:46 pm

Story
Drexel is a Weimaraner & staffi mix. He has a beautiful silky grey coat. He doesn't even shed! Drexel is great with other dogs and cats (his foster family has them). He's also been wonderful and gentle with all the children he's met at adoption events. Drexel was in foster for a few months and here's what they had to say about him, "Drexel is perhaps the most intelligent dog you will meet. He learned basic commands almost instantly and knows heel, sit, down, off, up, as well as distinguishing between shake and high five. Drexel is also house-trained and crate-trained, and mostly quiet unless he wants your attention. 'Playful' may just be his middle name and he gets along well with dogs and cats. He does need a firm hand, especially when he gets excited as he is strong and does like to jump up to give hugs and kisses and horseplay. While Drexel loves walks and being outside, he's somewhat fearful of loud trucks and he needs some more leashing training. He is also content chewing his toys by your side and cuddling (either with humans or his furry counterparts). He is high-energy and a Velcro dog. But given his curiosity and how easily he learns, could, with patience, be trained to continue growing in confidence and become more independent. You will be hard-pressed to find a sweeter or more loyal pup to join your family plus it doesn't hurt how handsome he is; he turns heads everywhere he goes." Given Drexel's size and strength, he'd be better in a home with no small children. Drexel's $250 adoption fee covers his neuter, microchip, and vaccinations, including rabies. If you think Drexel might be your next best friend, head to our website at www.hsnb.org and fill out an adoption interest form.
