Allergy Care: He has a flea and tick allergy. He needs monthly tick prevention medication applied, and his bedding and blankets must be kept meticulously clean.
2. Rescue Story
When Milo was staying at the Gimje Shelter, he always had a sad look on his face and sat quietly in the corner. Whenever he saw humans, he was busy hiding away. Deeply concerned that Milo would completely close off his heart due to extreme fear and stress, ADOGS stepped in urgently to rescue him.
3. Personality & Characteristics
- Interaction with Humans: He is very fearful. If a stranger tries to touch him suddenly, he shows stress signals like yawning or lip-smacking. He is protective of his space against strangers and dislikes people who are overly aggressive or fail to read his boundaries. If someone ignores his warning growl and persists, he may respond with a muzzle punch (booping hard with his snout) out of discomfort. However, with familiar faces he sees often, he will approach first to sniff. Once he fully trusts you, he becomes completely comfortable, allowing kisses, hugs, and physical touch!
- Interaction with Dogs: In his foster home, he doesn't show much interest in other dog friends and remains rather indifferent around adult dogs. While he coexists peacefully for the most part, he will show his teeth as a warning if another dog tries to mount him or if he encounters an unfamiliar puppy. He may growl slightly around puppies to keep an eye on them, but he never attacks.
- Interaction with Cats: He shows absolutely no interest in cats.
- Separation Anxiety: He has no separation anxiety and relaxes wonderfully on his own.
- Potty Training: In his current foster home, he handles his business both indoors and outdoors. He used to shred pee pads in the past, but now he just slightly folds them during use and no longer chews them. While he urinates well indoors, he strongly prefers going outdoors for bowel movements.
- Grooming & Hygiene: He gets a bit scared when sprayed directly with the showerhead, but he tolerates baths well and has no aversion to the blow dryer. He loves being brushed! Although he dislikes having his paws touched, nail trimming is manageable. He also behaves very well during teeth brushing.
- Leash Walking: Because he has some fear of the unfamiliar, he is currently undergoing leash training. He tends to freeze or resist in crowded areas, but he walks beautifully in quieter places. With consistent guidance, he is making great progress day by day.
- Motion Sickness: He travels perfectly and relaxes quietly in his kennel during car rides.
- Biting/Aggression: He used to open his mouth defensively toward strangers when feeling terrified. However, through consistent desensitization training, he now simply freezes when unfamiliar people touch him and no longer snaps. If a human acts too pushy or makes him uncomfortable, he will growl to signal his boundaries; if that warning is ignored, he may muzzle punch. Careful observation is recommended in any new environment.
- Barking: He rarely barks. He occasionally whines softly to communicate his needs, such as when he wants water, needs a potty break, or wants his indoor potty area cleaned up after use.
- Likes: He loves relaxing alone inside his kennel. He is also highly fond of meat treats, especially boiled chicken breast and duck jerky!
- Dislikes: He is frightened by large gestures or sudden touch. He especially growls and twitches his lips if a stranger tries to grab his paws. Also, if he is held in a hug for longer than a minute, he may accidentally have a potty accident due to stress. He is fearful of outside noises and the clicking sound of a leash buckle. His paw sensitivity is currently being managed with desensitization training.
- Personality: Milo is a sensitive, cautious, and independent boy who thrives in his own personal space. While it takes time for him to open up his heart, once you establish a bond, he reveals himself to be an incredibly sweet and charming!
