We no longer accept PayPal due to their fees they charge the rescue but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. Wilson’s story is brutal. Our foster mum was at the shelter to rescue a dog who got privately adopted & we did not want to leave the shelter without saving someone. She found Wilson in a cement run all wet, crying & crying for help to get out. He was listed as 10 years old but did not appear to be 10. He was so extremely sad & our foster mum broke down crying with how pitiful he was & just wanted to be loved & get out of the scary shelter in CA. Despite the fact he needed out we could not bare to leave him there. We rescued this beautiful little lad & thank goodness we did when we did because it was evident that someone had been very cruel to Wilson. Without his outstanding foster mum, this would not of happened for Wilson. Wilson who is now looking for his very own forever home & who will never give up on him again & dump him & love him just as his foster mum in CA & his foster mum in WA here does too along with us. After we rescued Wilson he was bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find him his loving forever home. The absolute insanity to think this baby doll ended up in one of the highest kill shelters in CA is soul destroying. Wilson just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we first rescued him, he went & laid down & slept & slept & knew he was now safe. In his foster home he eats clean. Fruits, vegetables, grains, raw meat & other proteins along with supplements. He also adores a good treat. Wilson is a very soft gentle soul, he is so easy his foster mum said considering what he has endured. His foster mum said Wilson is a very sweet dog & loves his humans once he knows them but does not want his head touched at all until he is comfortable with you. We don’t know if someone was hitting him on the head. This boy will look at you with so much gratitude & admiration. He also loves to be with his buddies & just lay with them or do whatever they are doing. But will play & play with some dogs. He loves everyone he meets after he knows them & feels comfortable with them. It’s imperative that Wilson come to you & smell you first. He also enjoys snuggling up on the couch & will jump on the couch & spend his day relaxing. He enjoys sleeping on the couch & sleeping in bed with you at night. His foster mums along with us still cannot believe someone would be so cruel & neglectful to Wilson. Wilson’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. He enjoys going out into the backyard in his foster home & having a wander around. Wilson has been great with his baths because he started having them with us in his loving foster home the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. He has also started getting used to being dried with a hairdryer. He will just let you dry him. He loves his foster mum & dad & his foster friends. He has put on a good amount of weight since being in his loving foster homes. Wilson rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & will sit in his car seat next to you with his dog friends. He also enjoys looking out the window. Wilson is a wonderful walker on his collar & leash & loves going on many walks. He absolutely hates harness’s & makes it very clear to not put one on him. A collar is no problems at all. We are looking for a forever home for Wilson where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. Wilson is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Wilson has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & fostered with other dogs in his foster home & does well with them & enjoys their company. He absolutely needs another dog in his forever home for him to thrive. Wilson is roughly 6 - 7 years old. He is 16.4 lbs & is perhaps a westie maltese mix, what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is male, now neutered, had a dental scale & polish along & had 10 teeth removed. He is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we do not redo them only rabies as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. Wilson has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children in the rescue but we absolutely do not recommend children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Wilson was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Wilson’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Wilson potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Wilson has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. When people approached, he used to retreat into the corner out of fear. To prevent his worry and anxiety from getting worse, he was rescued. * With People: Is wary of people and used to nip defensively, but this has improved a lot lately. His behavior is not aggressive, and he is taking training how to overcome it in school. With constant contact training, he's even accepted treats placed in the hands of people. * With Dogs: Usually tends to lie down in a corner but occasionally initiates to play by approaching first and playing tag. May find overly energetic dogs a bit overwhelming, though. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed as he resides at our center. * Potty Training: Not confirmed as he goes for outdoor potty at our center. * Walks: Goes for walks on the leash well. Sometimes flinches or freezes in surprise during walks, but generally follows well. 💌 Special Notes💌 * Nips defensively, but he's improving with continued engagement with Adogs staff! Felix’s story is so very sad, we are beyond disappointed in what he went through. We rescued Felix many years ago out of a high kill shelter in CA when he was going to lose his life & was going to be put to sleep at the age of 1. We bought him back to WA state & took care of all his medical & found him what we thought was a wonderful home. Well were we wrong. We were contacted by a shelter in WA state letting us know he had been dumped in the shelter & his owners did not want him anymore. They did not reach out to us & let us know as we would have taken him back immediately. The shelter knew we rescued him because we were on his microchip & his previous home did not bother to update his microchip. We went & picked up Felix immediately & he was safe & sound & back in our care & is in his loving foster home. He was so happy to see us & it broke our hearts that he had to go through this again. But now he is doing amazing & the loveliest little guy you will ever meet. He will be your world & you his. Felix just wants to be loved & be with you. In his foster home he eats clean. Fruits, vegetables, grains, raw meat & other proteins along with supplements. He also adores a good homemade treat along with collagen sticks & bully sticks. Felix is a very soft gentle soul, he is so easy his foster mum said considering what he has endured. His foster mum said Felix is a very sweet dog & loves everyone he meets. He loved our vet & even enjoyed going to our vets. This boy will look at you with so much gratitude & admiration. Lays with you & can't be happier being petted & touched. He also loves to be with his buddies & just lay with them or do whatever they are doing. She said he is really such a good & smart boy. He just had a dental scale & polish along & had 2 teeth removed. He has a grade 2 out of 6 heart murmur but we were He arrived so extremely thin & had put on weight in his loving foster home again. He is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we do not redo them only rabies as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs.
