Story
Danny Lee is a whippet mix. He came to us as a crisis response foster when he and his human were living outside in freezing weather. Danny loves other dogs, but despite his petite size is a strong and avid wrestling champion. He does best with dogs that have similar play styles and are good dog communicators. His best friend here is Doyle, an extra large mastiff. We would love for them to be adopted together, but it is not required. Danny has done really well on housebreaking, but does sometimes backslide when stressed. He needs a home that has a schedule/routine and is ok working with him while he learns he’s safe and home. He’s had a tough background and come so far - and is a complete love. He likes his toys, and giving kisses. He’s one of the fastest runners we’ve seen, and can also jump high. When he’s all done playing likes to sit directly at your side or in your lap. When Danny is excited you’re home, and is ready to go out, he is vocal. He would prefer a family who will make sure his exercise and socializing needs are met, and that has another dog, or will consider adopting him with his best friend. They should be patient and love active and intelligent dogs that need the mind worked with the body. He’s been around all people, all ages, and has done well. We do not know about cats but do not recommend.

Cocoa Pebbles is a young pup full of spunk and sass, who is one of 11 siblings, and has unfortunately been overlooked for unknown reasons. She is a petite pup weighing less than 30lbs, and is the fasted dog on the planet! She has done well in play groups with other dogs and we suspect she would do okay with cats. She does will with humans of all ages.

Meet Wheeler! Are you looking for a sweet boy that is shy at first but warms up nicely? At 1.5 years old and 45lbs... he is a sweet boy that gets a long with young kids and adults! Wheeler would love to be your walking partner, or even your jogging partner! He's active if you are active! He's only 1.5 years old but does a great job of "fitting in to his environment! We are truly amazed at his ability to adapt! Once you take this handsome guy home, that initial shyness melts away and his amazing personality shines through! PAWS encourages interested adopters to explore our Foster to Adopt program! Apply to adopt wheeler and take him home for a week or so to see how he fits in with your life and how you fit in with his! An ideal home would be a bit "slower moving since he's used to living with Seniors! Although at 1.5 years old.., Wheeler needs to be active so walking, hiking, jogging etc.. would be up his alley! He hasn't really learned how to be a young boy! If you have other dogs in your home, a meet and greet is always necessary. Macy is guessed to be 7 years old, 35 lbs and the most affectionate dog in the universe. She was found as a stray and appeared to have been in some scuffles while on the street. She loves every person she meets but wants to be the queen of her castle and not share affection with any other pets in the home. She is a cuddler and enjoys curling up in your lap. She is also very helpful around the house when it comes to helping with the yard. She enjoys running and doing zoomies so she really needs a fenced yard to be the best she can be and stay safe! Single white female, shy and petite, seeking a home with a female human wanting a constant companion. Ideal match is someone who is a home body with a quiet environment and enjoys daily walks. A home with a fenced yard for zoomies would be a bonus! Bailey is 5 years young and grew up in a high stimulus environment. Her general hyper nature could not handle the additional excitement in the home, so she is now hoping to find a more mellow residence. Her acceptance of a new person, though, is not instantaneous. You have to earn her trust initially, and that process can take several days. Once you do, she is a "velcro" dog that wants to be near you all the time. She can be vocal on occasions when left alone, so while her small size is perfect for apartments, her voice will likely upset other tenants. She is housebroken and crate trained. She was raised as a single pet in her initial home, so she exhibits jealousy around other animals. Thus, she needs to be the only pet. Her adoption fee is $250, and she is fostered in Roachdale, IN.
