Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Evie, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue. We are unsure of Evie’s breed but the shelter suggested she could be part Whippet. Evie is about 7 months old and she is a very sweet girl. She loves meeting other dogs and I’ve been told she is potty and crate trained. Evie is very affectionate, she walks well on a leash, and she entertains herself with balls, sticks, and frisbees. She has plenty of personality and love to give but will need to be supervised so she learns to chew on her toys and not other things. Evie has had her initial vaccinations and she has a Vet appt. on Friday for booster shots and to discuss her spay surgery timeline. She will need her first heart worm test at one year of age. If you would like to meet Evie, please submit an adoption application under her name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org . Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 11:20 am

Story
Shirley~birth~October 20232My sister and I were abandoned in an apartment. Animal control found us. Then we went on an adventure. We went to animal control then to a horse stable so we wouldn't be in kennels. Now we finally found a foster home. We LOVE people and children. We are on the smaller size we only weigh 20 pounds and will probably not grow much just fill out a little. So we are love in a little package. We like dogs when introduced properly. We haven't seen cats so we will update that as our foster home has some. I am a beautiful mocha color. Look at my beautiful ears I look so regal. I really just want to sit on your lap and be loved! I really want a home of my own. Could it be yours?_____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
**adoption pending** What a petite little brindle beauty Charro is! She is estimated to be about 6 months old and weighs 7 pounds. She and her sister Marverde came to the rescue very thin, so we are slowly trying to put a little more weight on them. Charro is a friendly, playful, and curious puppy who loves to be close to you. Her only care is to get attention and give kisses, she is just darling. With her adorable looks and sweet temperament, Charro is sure to steal your heart. She's just a baby, so she will need lots of love, attention, and care. Charro could use a little confidence building with some basic obedience and structure. If you think you can give Charro the forever home she deserves, please come and meet her today! She is all puppy- curious, playful, entertaining, and a lot of work. She is looking for a forever home that will provide her with the love and guidance she needs. Charro will also need someone who is home frequently because she can't be left alone for a long period of time due to being a puppy! Puppies require and deserve a lot of time and energy, but they will repay their families with a life time of unconditional love and happiness. We are looking for families to make a best friend for life! If you are interested in Charro and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
**pending adoption** Oh my, Marverde is a little treasure! She is estimated to be about 6 months old and weighs 7 pounds. She and her sister Charro came to the rescue very thin, so we are slowly trying to put a little more weight on them. Marverde is a loving, sweet, gentle little pup in need of a wonderful home. What an affectionate, connecting muffin with lots of love to give, she only wants to be by you. She is a little shyer than her sister and would really benefit from confidence building with basic obedience and structure. Marverde will bring lots of love, snuggles and laughter into your home. If you're looking to welcome a new bundle of joy into your family, consider adopting Marverde! She is all puppy- curious, playful, entertaining, and a lot of work. She is looking for a forever home that will provide her with the love and guidance she needs.
