Kanga and Roo would be a great addition to your household if you are interested in adopting a pair, although not required. Both walk well on a leash and are very playful and would love a fenced yard. Both are also super smart and have learned to sit when their foster holds up an index finger. They even sit for all meals and treats. They are fun, playful pups and play well together, burning off their energy. Roo smiles a lot :) and both are so cute!! They are very nice little dogs, not big barkers. Meet BREEZY! Breezy is a gorgeous, 1.5 year old, 38 pound female small white shepherd/whippet/hound mix. Her constant smile and expressive eyes add to her looks, and her sweet and lovable personality. Breezy is such a HAPPY girl! She LOVES to give gentle "kisses". Breezy adapts well to all situations, loves to meet people of all ages, gets along with other friendly/playful dogs, and would love to have a dog friend! She seems to understands house training and is crate trained. At about 40 pounds, she is a great size for any household. While Breezy settles down nicely to hang out and is a medium energy dog, she also is playful; she even knows how to play catch!!! As a young dog, she will need exercise and reinforcement of training (particularly, leash work) so this young dog can become the well-behaved dog she can be. Poor Breezy was found wandering and ended up in a rural North Carolina shelter, which was beyond capacity; luckily for Breezy, a local foster got her out of the shelter giving her a safe place to stay until we could bring this extremely sweet dog into PetConnect. Breezy is very happy to now be in the DC area to find a forever family that will give her the attention that she deserves and never abandon her to wander the streets or end up in a high-kill shelter. Breezy would LOVE to curl up with you to hang out on a cool spring night! She would be an excellent new member of the family! Breezy is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and eager to find a family to love! ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving applicants is a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Breezy is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care.
