Story
Snickers is an adorable Yorkie that was placed on CL and thankfully a rescuer saw him and was able to get him to safety! Snickers family originally gave him up because they were having a baby and no longer wanted the responsibility of caring for Snickers any longer, even though they had him for 8 years... sad! Snickers is 7 years old and has been fully vetted. He has an early cataract but can see just fine. No issues. He weighs 10#. Snickers is heartworm negative and on prevention. He is crate trained and we think housetrained, but his foster home has so many dog smells that he marks them, so he currently is wearing a belly band. Snickers loves men! He would do best in a home with a couple, either home all of the time or retired. He bonds quickly. He is great with other dogs or he can be the only dog. Unknown with cats. Snickers adoption fee is $200 which covers all vetting and care, while we have him. Story
Simon is an itty-bitty 1 ½ yr old, 4 lb, Yorkshire Terrier who came to us as a “breeder” release dog which means she had never lived in a home as someone’s beloved family member. Simon’s foster mother says he was initially shy but warmed up quickly. He is affectionate and appreciative. Simon likes to snuggle up close to his person in bed and gets along well with the other small dogs in his foster home. He is learning leash training and has a way to go on housetraining. He has not figured out steps yet, so he would do best in a home and yard where there are few or no steps. Simon could be an only dog or have another tiny dog, under 8 lbs, which is our preference. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1 1/4 inches, and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500April 13, 2024, 1:42 am

Story
Ryder is a 3 lb, 7 yr old Yorkshire Terrier who came to us as a “breeder” release dog which means she had never lived in a home as someone’s beloved family member. Ryder’s foster mother says he’s a quiet, tiny, sweetie pie. She often catches him prancing up and down in place and stretching his back legs backward. It's a cute little routine. Although Ryder loves attention, he rarely lies in your lap, but just stands in your lap! When Ryder came into rescue, he was very sickly, but is now well on the mend, but he grew accustomed to being spoon-fed and will not eat on his own. Ryder is a quiet Yorkie who prefers taking things in and watching everything going on. He is not playful yet, but seemingly more contemplative in nature. He is a loving little guy for anyone with a calm and leisurely life. Ryder could be an only dog or have another tiny dog (under 8 lbs), which is our preference. He is working on his housetraining and is so tiny he could also be a strictly indoor dog who uses pee pads. He has not figured out steps yet, so he would do best in a home and yard where there are few or no steps. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1 inch, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door which opens into the fenced yard.
