Duke is a dashing gentleman about 12 years old and 13 pounds. Duke would do best in a laid back environment where he can be sure to have his own toys and attention. He is currently in foster and does well with similar laid back dogs. Duke is a senior boy and with his age he has developed some health issues. He is currently on a medication to help with elevated liver levels. If you have a space in your heart and home to spoil this sweet guy the last couple years of his life he would be the happiest dog on the planet! Our senior adult dog adoption fee is $200 which includes each animal is fixed, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, heartworm &/or 4dx tested, kept on monthly preventions, and dewormed. Meet Barney. Barney is a Yorkie that was surrendered to us from a commercial breeding facility. He is about 7 years old and weighs about 9 lbs. Barney loves other dogs and will do best in a home with another friendly small dog and a securely fenced in yard. He is very shy around people and will need a calm and patient home. Barney is working on housebreaking and does wear a belly band in his foster home due to marking. Barney is now neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for heartworm. Frankie was rescued from a NY Shelter where he was picked up as a stray. No one claimed him so DCAR was happy to bring him into our rescue and help place him into a loving home. He was very matted when he was found and had to be shaved down. Frankie listens well, comes when he is called, loves to chase balls and curl up on your lap. No small children and a secured fenced in yard is preferred. He is doing great on house training and a nice little dog. Frankie would be great as an only dog but is good with other dogs too. He has developed some house guarding which we are working on. If you are interested please complete an application online. This dog is currently being fostered in Rochester, NY and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome. PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise written, all of our puppy mill survivors will require a secure fenced yard, another small dog in the home, and an experienced owner. Dogs rescued from puppy mills will have started to learn but cannot be expected to be fully potty trained at time of adoption. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW! We currently adopt in the states of PA*, NJ, NY**, DE, and some areas of MD. Our adoption fees are on our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped. We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.
