Story
Carly is a black and silver yorkie that weighs about 6 pounds. Her date of birth is 3/28/21. Carli is a retired working girl and is ready to find a retirement home where she can be treated like a little princess. She is a little shy, as working girls do not get a lot of socialization with humans, but she is so very sweet and is learning just how loving humans can be and she loves to be held. She is great with other dogs and she and Heidi, another working girl, are best friends. Carli is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, received a Proheart 6 shot and is also being kept on flea and tick prevention to maintain her good health. Her adoption donation is $1200 plus $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Carli, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

PUMPKIN is 7 months old, 7 pounds and we think a Yorkie mix, possible with ShihTzu. We definitely know she is super sweet and very small. Look at this doll and your heart will melt away. It is hard to believe that her original owner dumped her in her kennel on the roadside in Arkansas!! She can be a bit clingy because of this, but hopefully she will find a home with a dog pal and someone who can build up her confidence. Well, this little princess will have a wonderful forever life, we promise her that. Hurry up! Don't miss out! OUR PROCEDURE: Once we choose you from your application and we speak on the phone and do references , we will ask for a $100, deposit to hold your pup for you to meet. It is refundable if you meet the pup and then are not interested. IF YOU DO NOT KEEP THE APPOINTMENT, IT IS NOT REFUNDABLE. All of this is sent to you in writing. The dog will be in RI on Saturday, Mar. 30. We will choose the dog's possible family as soon as we see a match. We will phone you and further discuss . The dog will be in Rhode Island for a meet and greet on MARCH 30, SATURDAY.. Please realize, it is our goal to get the dogs into the right homes as soon as possible and no shows are not good for the dogs and other serious dog families. If you can provide a FABULOUS home please file our free application (see link above) and tell us why we should let you adopt our wonderful rescue. The more you tell us the better picture we have of the home you can provide for our rescue Once we have reviewed your application and think it is a match we will notify you. Please understand that as these dogs are fostered we do get to know them and have a good idea of their forever home. We do save applications, but you may put multiple names on one application. If you have already applied in the past, then please send us a message with your name and what dog you are now interested in being considered for and we will pull off the server. We do not choose by a first come first serve basis. So if the dog is still up on the site, consider the dog AVAILABLE. We do take down quickly when adopted. If you don't see any information you need to know, we probably don't have an answer....like cats...idk... Story
Cujo Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Meet Cujo, a distinguished almost 12-year-old senior unaltered male Yorkie who is as charming as they come. Despite his age, Cujo is still full of love and has plenty of affection to share with his forever family. Cujo gets along well with other dogs and cats, showing that his friendly nature knows no bounds. However, due to his age and size, we believe that small children may be too much for him to handle. Don't let his name fool you – Cujo is anything but fierce. In fact, he's a wonderfully friendly and loving companion who is sure to steal your heart with his gentle nature and kind eyes. If you're looking for a loyal and loving senior companion who has plenty of love left to give, Cujo might be the perfect match for you. Consider opening your heart and home to this sweet boy, and give him the comfortable and loving retirement he deserves. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements.

Story
Adoption Donation   $    299                Located:     MS    (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details )    Age: approx    13  years old     Weight:   lbs    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  friendsoha@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc.
