We have no idea why she’s been waiting so long. She is obviously gorgeous and sweet! She is a careful girl but loves her people fiercely! She is more nervous around new men, but warms up fine as she looooooves her foster dad so much. She is an active girl and loves to run and play with other dogs. In fact, she tends to do best with other dogs around because they help her feel more confident and secure. This pretty girl needs nothing but a little patience and love. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old. Story
Luna has become accustomed to her housemates over time. In the beginning there were several fights over food and toys. As long as she is fed separately she is ok, otherwise she will eat all the food. Same with toys , she must be played with separately otherwise she will stuff all the balls in her mouth. Chew toys are hers. She is great on walks , can sit and has learned stay. Has a tendency to get stubborn especially with coming back inside. Doesn't like too many other dogs. Has trouble, gets aggressive around small children. Is a little picky about who she let pet her. Otherwise I haven't seen aggressive behavior with the family in the house and is quick to flop on her back for a belly rub. Loves laying on the couch and looking out the window. Also loves to sit outside and watch, everything. She is a chewer and a digger. On walks must pay attention because everything goes in mouth. Would be great in a home where she is the only pet, loves treats and chew toys.

CHANCE – have you ever seen a more handsome fella? Just a few things about this sweet guy. The vet believes that Chance is between 18mo - 2yrs old and weighs 59lbs. • He is heart worm negative and neutered. •He is super sweet and gentle - wants to cuddle and be near his person. •He is dog-friendly (the foster doesn’t have cats, so we are not certain if he’s cat-friendly) •He is people-friendly to everyone he has met. Foster does not have small children, but he has been fine around children on walks. Due to his size and youth, he might knock down small children, but he is not aggressive. •He is house broken. Even in the rain and snow he has let us know he needs to go out. •He is a little timid to new people at first, but warms up quickly. •He very rarely barks. •He has learned to sit, walk on a leash, and “wait” for his food bowl to be put down. •He is very food motivated, so can be easily trained with treat rewards. He is not reactive when eating. •He can be possessive over certain toys with a low, warning growl if another dog tries to take it from him. •He is not interested in fetching a ball, but loves chew toys and antlers. • He can be very active, but is also happy cuddled up with his person. •He would do great in a house with another dog, but would be fine as an only dog also. Say hello to Kita! Kita is a sweet girl who is dog friendly and loves to play. She is an Akita which are high energy, intelligent, and thick coated dogs. She is very affectionate and will roll around on her back for belly rubs! She generally walks well on a leash as well. Kita has shown signs of resource guarding in the shelter and will need a home comfortable working on it with her. She will do best in a home without young children due to the guarding tendencies. Kita can be a bit jumpy and likes to play rough- she sometimes uses her mouth to play and will need help learning that most people prefer to not use their hands as toys. Kita is very food motivated and will do well with training as long as you have a snack! If you think Kita could be the dog for you, come and meet her at Anti-Cruelty!
