Story
Attention Akita lovers!!!! This is Sheba, and she is a year and a half old, 78 pounds and incredibly shy and unsure of people, and well, basically just things, right now. She was surrendered in the field by her owner, so we have no idea about her past life except that she used to live with two other dogs. We just know that she will need a patient adopter who will give her the time to build trust, and come out of her shell. Sheba attends doggy playgroups and is unsocialized, tending to stick to herself, trying to play safe. This girl would love nothing more than to let her guard down, and love and be loved. As Sheba is becoming more socialized with our staff and volunteers, she is finding out that humans can be good. She will lean in sometimes while on her walks for affection, liking pets to her back. She is very curious and loves to explore when out for her walks and take in the smells and sounds. She deserves a chance at a home where she will be loved and cherished. Can she take the chance with you? Come meet her today. Sheba is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

Story
Meet Togo, an Akita mix who is about a year and a half old. Togo was brought in by Animal Control with two other dogs after neighbors reported concern for the dogs. The dogs were being neglected and these dogs were surrendered to KCPP. Togo is extremely shy with people and will need a patient and diligent adopter. Someone who is willing to work with Togo to get him through his shyness and help him gain confidence. We don't know anything about Togo, or the mates brought in with him, but it is obvious their life was not an easy one. They were not socialized or given proper direction so Togo will need LOVE. In doggy playgroups so far, he has been unsocialized, seeking safety with the gentle and dainty dogs. As Togo becomes more acclimated to seeing more of our staff and volunteers, he is slowly learning people aren't all bad. He is curious, seems to like to explore the outdoors and will allow pets to his back during outings with the volunteers. This boy deserves a chance at a good home and a good life. Don't you think? Togo comes neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Story
Dutch has captured the hearts of our vet clinic. He has spent time there recovering after coming in with an injury to his eye. This doesn't slow him down at all. He is loving and affectionate and recently went on a Dog Day Out where he enjoyed nice walks and being outside. He participates in playgroups and would need to meet any potential dogs prior to going home. Dutch is a wonderful pet that wants nothing more than a home of his own.

Story
Hello! We’ve had Remy since he was a pup. He was born 2/4/2017 so he’s 5 years old. He has LOTS of energy so someone who can play with him would be ideal. We are needing to rehome him because our daughter has developed allergies to his hair. We are also working overtime and can’t give him the care he needs. He deserves someone who can take him on long walks and have a better quality of life. He loves winter snow. He gets the zoomies when he’s excited. He’s a really good boy and I wish we could keep him but that wouldn’t be fair to him or our daughter.
