The vet believes that Chance is between 18mo - 2yrs old and weighs 59lbs. • He is heart worm negative and neutered. •He is super sweet and gentle - wants to cuddle and be near his person. •He is dog-friendly (the foster doesn’t have cats, so we are not certain if he’s cat-friendly) •He is people-friendly to everyone he has met. Foster does not have small children, but he has been fine around children on walks. Due to his size and youth, he might knock down small children, but he is not aggressive. •He is house broken. Even in the rain and snow he has let us know he needs to go out. •He is a little timid to new people at first, but warms up quickly. •He very rarely barks. •He has learned to sit, walk on a leash, and “wait” for his food bowl to be put down. •He is very food motivated, so can be easily trained with treat rewards. He is not reactive when eating. •He can be possessive over certain toys with a low, warning growl if another dog tries to take it from him. •He is not interested in fetching a ball, but loves chew toys and antlers. • He can be very active, but is also happy cuddled up with his person. •He would do great in a house with another dog, but would be fine as an only dog also. We rescued him from certain death when he found himself at a southern kill shelter, infected with a deadly heartworm infection, intestinal parasites, skin infection, ear infection, thin and unvaccinated, and dumped at a shelter. His spirit was broken. Then to make matters worse, he contracted PARVO at the shelter!! We couldn't let him die that way! So we rushed him to our vet and got to work looking for foster. Today Hershal has a clean bill of health, he's looking and feeling great. And he loves how it feels to be safe and loved and part of the family at his foster home! Hershal is approx 7 or 8 years old. He's a sweet, loving, laid back dog. He's housebroken  and he loves kids. He would probably do best in a home without other dogs. March 16, 2024, 12:13 am

Meet Jax, a really great all around dog! His blue eyes reveal his husky heritage and his playfulness and affection will win your heart. Jax was an owner surrender through no fault of his own, they just had to move to an apartment complex that did not allow big dogs. We thought that he was a senior dog when we first looked at his teeth, but his molars are in good shape, so he's around 5-6. However, he has some broken and missing teeth in the front. We don't know what happed to them. His foster says "Jax is a low maintenance guy that loves two things above all else, his daily walks and playing with toys. He gets along with all the dogs and cats in our home and even puts up with the foster puppies. He can entertain himself, throwing a toy in the air by himself over and over and then catching it. He practically prances when trotting on his leash." Jax is great on a leash, loves spending time in a fenced in back yard and is very friendly even to people he does not know.
