Story
Meet Yuma, a 3-year-old Malamute mix who has the most sweet and soulful brown eyes! Poor Yuma came to us in very bad shape. He was emaciated with an open wounded ear that was left untreated and turning necrotic. You could tell this poor soul hadn't known much love in his life as he was very scared of people. He is now in a foster home where he is enjoying life with his dog friends with people who love him and he knows would never hurt him! Yuma is still quite shy, but having canine friends is really helping him! He's incredibly sweet and can't wait to find his forever family that will help him continue his journey in living the good life- especially if there's another dog for him to hang out with!

Story
Oh sweet Luna Some may remember Luna, she was pulled a little over a year ago from a high kill shelter. Her days were numbered and we got her out just in time. Her owner had surrendered her as a wolf hybrid and bc of that her fate was sealed from the get go and she was scheduled to die. We KNEW Luna was not a wolf, soon after pulling we ordered a DNA kit and sure enough. She didn't even have an ounce of wolf in her. She would have died for absolutely nothing! Luna is German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and Great Pyrenees. She is around 3 years of age and a very loving, quiet sweet girl. She is shy when meeting new people but once she gets to know you all she really wants is some love and a lap to lay her beautiful head in! Let's find Luna a home.. She told us she was ready! :) Luna must have a homeowner with a large fenced yard. She prefers to be outdoors as she was raised sadly on a chain outside by the family that surrendered her. She's never been indoors so she is not housebroken but a very docile, quiet, smart dog and we know she would love the inside *Part of the family* life if someone would offer her their heart. She's never known this. She is not good with cats, again as she has never been around them so her natural instinct as with most any dog not raised with cats is to chase them. She's a WONDERFUL dog just needs someone to give her a chance.

Story
Haku means "pure" in Japanese! I was named for my pure, passionate and overwhelming love for everyone around me! I came to the rescue when my dad was stationed in Japan and heartbroken that he couldn't take me with him. I've missed him so much ever since! Everyday I do the things I did with him with other dogs so I can try and remember what it felt like to be with him! But it's just not the same. So, I'm hoping a new family can come scoop me up and show me what it feels like to be a part of a home and family again! I am good with other dogs, I love playing chase with them or tugging on chew toys. I'll need a happy and active home so that my life will be full of love and fun! I am a bit anxious and nervous around new people, and people in general! Slow introductions, a safe space I can retreat to like a crate and not forcing me into spaces with tons of people will help me be myself all the time! Haku can only be adopted in the local or TX area. Local adoption only, in San Antonio or TX area, $200.

Story
Nova is a 6 year old red and white malamute that came in with Sequoia and Luna. Sequoia seems particularly bonded to her. While these three do very well with each other, they have displayed some dislike toward other dogs of both sexes, especially when they are together a pack. Nova is a very tall girl and presents herself as the reserved lady of the the three, putting up with their shenanigans and maintaining her dignity. Her clown comes out every so often. If you are interested in this dog, or any of our other dogs, please go to www.iamra.org and fill out an online application. Steps to Complete: Complete an application Phone interview to see if we can meet your needs Homecheck to verify information Schedule adoption visit Adopting a Malamute is a serious commitment, requiring both financial stability and consistent living arrangements.
