Story
I was given this dog from a friend who had it for some years. I am looking for him to go to a home that will truly love him. Truly love him as have him preferably as an only dog to have time to play with him, walk him, and overall have a space for him with a big fence because he is an escape master. A home where he can run free and not be tied up all day! To my knowledge he will need medical attention due to having a bad scar near his butt. He is very well trained and loves to cuddle and roll around in the mud and grass.

Story
Meet Autumn, a sweet and soulful pup on the lookout for a loving adult-only home. This charming girl has a heart of gold and a gentle demeanor that melts hearts. Autumn has experience living alongside other dogs, although she prefers to coexist peacefully rather than engage in vigorous play. Due to a previous surgery and arthritis, Autumn is sensitive about her back legs and appreciates gentle handling. When meeting new people, Autumn likes to take her time, preferring slow introductions to build trust and confidence. She's a bit nervous around unfamiliar faces but warms up quickly with patience and understanding. Despite her reservations, Autumn is a housebroken and crate-trained gem who enjoys short, leisurely walks around the neighborhood.Autumn is a clever girl who has mastered commands like sit, come, down, shake, stay, and leave it. She thrives on positive reinforcement and loves to show off her tricks to earn some tasty treats. If you're seeking a loyal companion who will blossom with love and patience, consider opening your heart and home to Autumn. She's ready to fill your life with so much happiness!

Story
Max is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Our Max, 8 year old male Alaskan Malamute is getting increasingly more anxious as he ages. He has begun marking his territory in the house constantly, and he is absolutely petrified of storms. We have 5 huskies, 3 male, 2 female and we think Max really needs to be an only pet for the remainder of his days. He is healthy, loving, loyal, thinks he is a lap dog. Would be great for someone needing a companion as he always want to be sitting or laying at your side. We rescued him from a puppy mill about 2 years ago where he was left outside in a stall/kennel for most of his life. This is why we thing he is terrified of storms. He shakes and needs to be comforted for a good 30 minutes before a storm even arrives. Currently he is an indoor dog with full access doggie door to the outside fenced yard 24/7. He HATES to be left alone and locked out in the yard. It is the only time he will bark. As he ages and gets more nervous he marks anytime a male dog is near him. We have tried EVERYTHING to make it stop but it hasn’t. He may need anxiety chews or something but I feel terrible that he is constantly feeling that anxiousness. We have 5 kids and I run an in home daycare. He is good with kids and animals of all ages. As he ages he doesn’t love to be crawled on or picked at by the toddlers so much so he will give them a little verbal back off but he has never nipped at or bitten anyone. He is neutered and up to date on his rabies vac. He is just such a sweet boy and we don’t know what to do with him. We want him to be happy in a less stressful environment. If you are interested in Max email Thejourneybloomington@gmail.com or text 812 671 2013. ***Please ignore the Apply to Adopt button for this pet & contact the owner directly***

Story
Clark Kent was pulled from a euthanasia list at a shelter outside of Marion Co. While we are not normally able to do this, a lot of stars aligned for this lucky dog. He is approximately 2 years old and an Akita mix. He is 56 lbs. Clark Kent was on the euthanasia list because he was suffering from very high kennel stress, and it was affecting his quality of life. He is currently living at a daycare facility and doing very well. Clark is a very sweet dog and also does well with other dogs. He has a lot of energy, so we are looking for a home where he can be active. We are also looking for a home where owners are either home frequently or where he will NOT go long periods of time in a crate. He would also do best in a home that has a fenced-in yard. Clark is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $200.
