Story
Hello, my name is Tig! I'm a big sweetheart hunk of a dog, and the people at CCRC tell me I have the cutest big brown eyes. I'm a bit shy at first, but warm up quickly to new people and will be your favorite shadow in no time! I enjoy walks with my foster dog sister, playing with my toys and chasing rabbits in the yard. Once we're back home, I like sitting at your feet and resting in the warm sunshine. I have great house manners and enjoy peanut butter, chew toys, and using my curiosity to find new smells. I'm happy and friendly with other dogs, and would do great with a companion to play with when not cuddling with my human. My foster parents say I'm curious, strong and the goodest boy! I think treats are the best so they are helping me learn to walk with a loose leash. We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   April 18, 2024, 7:28 pm

Story
We just can’t with the pouty lips, how cute can one dog be! Beanie is estimated to be about 1.5 years old and weighs 45 pounds. Meet Beanie, an adorable young lady with a wiggle in her step and a happy heart full of love! We fear she may have not been treated very well in her past, Beanie is very hand shy and jumpy at times like she has been hit regularly, the poor sweet baby. Even with that, her wiggle butt never stops, just hoping for a little praise and love. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite, so she is hoping her new family is up for a few of those. Beanie will need an adopter who can provide leadership, structure and be able to work on building her confidence and trust. She can also be mouthy, so she will need some work on this. She can't wait to find her forever home and start a new, caring, happy life with you. Come meet this sweet girl today and see her adorable wiggle for yourself! Beanie will need an active home where any children are at least 13 years old. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Beanie would love to meet them. She can shy away a bit at first meeting, but once she is comfortable, she has friendly, loose interactions. If you are interested in Beanie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
**in a foster home and not at the kennel** My name is Star. I am about as friendly as they come and am just a happy girl. I can’t wait to greet every human I meet...they may have food! I have hung out with many dogs and I like them all just fine. The chiller ones are more my speed, my body can’t handle the spunky ones jumping all over me. Besides, they usually do not have food for me so I am pretty indifferent to their presence. Same with the cats that I have met. I am more focused on where the food, oops, I mean the people are. Alright alright I’ll admit that I may have put on a few pounds over the years. Yeah I’m a little round in the middle. Weighing in at 60 lbs of low-riding beautiful bully mix. Maybe we can work together and get in better shape together? I’m an older gal...pushing 7.5 years young but don’t let my age fool you. I’m still up for a good time. I love to play dress up and strut around then pose for the camera...maybe I was meant to be a full figure model? My favorite pastime is being close to you. We can watch some tv on the couch, snuggle up close, or go for walks around the neighborhood. I’m not much of a talker but I am a great listener. We could go for a nice stroll together down memory lane. I am looking for a family that is committed and can continue to provide me with daily care for my eyes. I need eye drops twice a day. I could also greatly benefit from a little exercise. I would love to get my girlish figure back! I can be pushy and selfish with food, I am looking for an experienced adult only home that is ready for a best friend! I can’t wait to meet you! ~Star If you think you and I could be a good match and you are over 21 years old, come meet me during open hours and/or send in an application for me at k9stray.com. My friends at k9 will be in touch. K9 looks forward to helping you find your new best friend...hopefully it’s me! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.*

JJ~birth~November 2022Hi everyone my name is JJ, I hope someone out there can help me. I am a big boy, about 85 pounds and I am on a journey to find a hooman and a home to call my own. I can be a bit shy at first in a new place with new people but I am quick to warm up if you have food!! I sadly wasn't given many opportunities to be socialized properly with the outdoor world without my siblings but I am trying to be better. I have been at school for the past couple of months working on my obedience and socialization skills. I sadly do not do well with other dogs and need to be in a home by myself so I can get all the attention! I know how to heel, sit, down, place, and come. I am getting better about paying better attention to my teacher during class but sometimes it's just so hard because there are so many things I have never seen or heard before. Everything is new to me so I am still learning new things every day. I would love the opportunity to explore the world with you and hope to see you soon! _____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org

I do well with other dogs but my teacher says I don't realize my size--- I think she's nuts, I am a perfect lap sized doggo. I'm only 80 pounds and I have proven to her time and time again I can fit anywhere. I also know how to heel, sit, down, place, and come. Story
Hey everyone! Sassy senior Midge here from GLDR! I'm a seven-year-old bulldog/terrier mix who is eager to be part of your family! Don't let my age fool you. I'm a spunky lady who is ready for any adventure that comes my way!!! I'm recovering from my recent surgery and am happy to report I have a clean bill of health! Please consider opening your heart to me and I'll be the best friend you could ever ask for! While I was able to stay with a temporary foster while recovering from surgery, I'm looking for a full-time foster until my forever family adopts me! I stayed with my foster family and their pups and loved every minute of it. Looking for a fur sibling for your family fur baby? I could be the gal you've been searching for! I have a playful style of play so other dogs my size would be ideal for me! I'm happy to report I'm both house-trained and crate-trained! I'm a fan of peanut butter and have a good appetite. My foster mom was able to take my food away with no issue. When it's time for treats, I need a little prompting, but will sit nicely and flash you my dazzling smile for a tempting treat which I take very gently. Unless of course we're talking about ice cream and in that case, there's no stopping me-lol! I am quite the curious gal and love to explore. Whether it's walking around the sub meeting new folks along the way or just exploring my home surroundings, I love to be on the move. I love riding in the car and prefer to be up front as your copilot. I may be a senior dog, but I sure don't act like it! I've had a chance to meet the neighbors and boy did I love the attention. I even got to meet some children and was on my best behavior. My foster family was very impressed! My foster parents call me Midge, "Midgey" and I respond to both. I always want to be where you are so a family that has time to devote to hanging with me would be a dream come true. My foster mom works from home so I sat nearby and kept watch out the window for squirrels. I enjoy snoozing on the couch and am a master snuggle baby!! After a fun-filled day, I like to unwind and enjoy some more snuggles before bed. Once settled, I slept well through the night in my crate. When it comes to my forever home, I'd do well in an active home where I will be exercised regularly. A yard for me to enjoy is a must! I'd do well with adults and families with kids ages eight and up. A cat-free home is best for me. I will need some time to decompress and relax, so please be patient with me! I promise I'm worth the wait! If you have a family fur baby you'd like me to meet, I'm game anytime. If I sound like the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and fill out an application! My friends at GLDR will be in touch soon!
