Story

Meet Lizzy! Lizzy has come a long way in her foster home since coming to us. She is completely housebroken and crate trained. Her foster family have been working on more structured training over the past couple months and she has perfected the basics, and then some: sit, down, stay, drop it, leave it, wait, come here. She will do many of those with word commands, or with hand signals and no words. She has recently started learning to ring a bell on the door when she wants to go outside and she is doing it most of the time. Lizzy has learned the routine and when she sees her foster mom getting ready to leave, she goes and waits in her crate. She loves all the toys, but especially her tennis balls. She has learned to bring the ball to you, drop it and then step back and lay down while she waits for you to throw it - all without us having to say a word. And she will keep playing until you make her stop. She loves going on walks and is getting much better with not pulling on the leash. She gets very excited for car rides and does very well in the car. When it’s time to go to bed, she can’t wait to snuggle and has recently realized she’d prefer to be under the covers. She loves to be wherever we are, but she does fine at home (in her crate) during the day too. The one thing we have learned about Lizzy is that she needs to be the only pet in the home, and would do best with kids over 12. Fill out an application at www.maggiesmissionrescue.org

Story

 Brandi is a sweet American Bulldog mix girl, about 2 years old, with lots of love to give. She is learning commands, sit, wait and doing well with her crate training. She was saved from the Medina County Pound and is a medium size dog. She has all her shots and is spayed. K9 Guide Dog training has been working with her and has agreed to continue to work with her  through her placement.  Her foster mom is working with her. She said her grandchildren visited and she was great with them but would recommend school age children in a home of any adopter. We don't know what this girl's history is, but we do know that she is responding well to TLC and should be a valuable addition to any family. The foster mom says she is a dog who wants to be the "top dog". She needs an ONLY dog home. She cuddles and loves attention and wants other dogs to be submissive. She would do better as an only dog. Story

  Petey is a 63lb three year old pulled from an animal shelter on 9-19-23, and has been doing well in his foster home, and doing his best to learn how to be a good boy. He was in the Medina Animal Shelter for close to 5 months, so he is appreciating every bit of love and attention that he's getting. He's doing great with potty training in the home, and he's had playtimes with his foster mom's dogs, although we will definitely need to do meet and greets if a family already has a dog in the home. Petey can get a bit excited when he sees other dogs while on walks so an experienced handler and someone with bulldog experience would be wonderful.  A completely fenced in yard will be required. We are looking to adopt Petey into a home where there will not be children, be it family or visitors. Be forewarned, he also has a tendency to park his almost 90lb body in your lap and do the cuddles and snuggles ❤ Oakley keeps up on walks and hikes. Don’t walk anywhere near water though, if you are not prepared for the consequences. Oakley will think nothing of jumping in the water! If there are ducks or geese, he will give chase. Oakley thinks chasing after small creatures is just the coolest thing! He will need a thorough wipe down or bath after all these adventures. You see, Oakley has a long list of allergies. Amongst them are grass and trees. Other adorable things Oakley does is bring you his favorite toys (stuffies are his favorite) and ball. He carries them around in his mouth, everywhere. He treats them like they are his babies 😊 Oakley is 4 years old, 90lb American Bulldog. Having been disappointed by humans many times, Oakley takes a little bit to warm up to strangers (treats help) but once he inducts you into his circle, you’re in for life! Oakley is looking for a semi-active family with a good blend of activities and chill time. Oakley prefers to be the only pet in the house as nothing makes him happier than to soak up all your love and attention. This kid will give back twice as much ❤
