Meet our local celebrity, Dora the Explorer! Dora is around 2.5 years old and she weighs around 58 lbs. Dora was spotted for over 1 year traveling a wide area and numerous concerned citizens became concerned that Dora had lost her way and her family. A group of volunteers made it their mission to rescue Dora. After being caught it was evident that at some point she had a family that loved her because she knew many commands and was proving to be a very intelligent girl. Dora is very playful. She bonds to her humans very quickly and would just love to be a couch potato when she is not out in the yard entertaining herself or having fun playing fetch. Her foster family has several older dogs and Dora seems fine with them, however, Dora would do great as well, as a single dog family because she loves her people! Any questions about her can be answered by her foster mom and we can put you in touch with her. Dora is ready to travel when the perfect home is found for her. When he is not playing hard, he just wants to cuddle and warning... he thinks he is a lap dog. He enjoys chewing on bones, deer antlers, and playing with squeaky toys. A fenced yard would be ideal for his energy. If no fence, daily exercise would be a must for him. He rides great in the car and would be a great dog for hikes and long walks. Don't let his age full you.. this boy still has lots of energy and love to share. He would do best in a calmer home without a lot of people in and out. He does good with medium to large dogs, small dogs we would not recommend. He is not good with cats. Older/considerate kids would be best for him to play with since he is a solid boy. He seems to do best with women and is slow to warm up to men, but once he trusts you, you’re golden. He came to ODAAT after his human Mom passed away in their home. Deitz stayed by her side for days until they were found by family and sadly the family was unable to keep him. Understandably so, he will be protective of your family. He would never want to lose you. When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. Shiloh has had an unfair start to life. Shiloh was rescued from a an extremely elderly lady who wouldn't keep her in the house because she was afraid the dog would cause her to fall. She kept Shiloh in the back yard all winter, and she started escaping the fencing from loneliness. This resulted in the woman putting her in a metal crate with no bottom or blankets so she could wash it out with a water hose. When Bonnie Lou found out about this, she contacted a rescue who said they would take this lovely girl. So, Bonnie brought her to her own home, inside the house. Then the rescue who is known for this stunt, dumped Shiloh on Bonnie permanently. No story needs to get to be this sad. This pup is adorable and gorgeous to boot. She is full of curiosity, and wants to interact with both people and dogs. GreenePets is doing a courtesy post for Bonnie Lou, and we have the ability to arrange transport to other states, so please someone open your heart to this babydoll.
