Story
Hey pals. My name is Honey and I'm a real Georgia peach. I had a bit of a rougher start to life, but some kind people got me healthy and fed, and now I'm here looking for a family of my own. So, what can I tell you about myself?! Well first, I'ma stay an itty-bitty-pittie! I'm fully grown and only weighing in at the "fun size" of about 32 lbs.I am a tennis ball/squeaker toy fanatic. Sometimes I get so excited playing with my toys I make adorable little snorting noises like a piglet. Currently I am living in a foster home with a resident dog who I adore- however I display a lot of uncertainty toward dogs that I am not familiar with, so I'm looking for a human who doesn't mind helping me out with some training in that department. If you too enjoy long sniffs in the woods, diced-up hot dogs, and snuggling together on the couch, fill out an application and let's meet! You can find the application at https://capeannanimalaid.org/adopt.html

Story
Nova is a beautiful 6 year old 64-lb pit mix that has more love to give than she can handle. My husband and I rescued her when she was 2 years old after she was surrendered pregnant and forced to give birth to her puppies in an unfamiliar shelter. The poor thing went through a lot and because of this she does have some anxiety and occasional fear aggression. We welcomed twin girls Nov. 2022 and although we were trying hard to make it work, it has been stressful on poor Nova and us to manage keeping them apart in our small home. Although we don’t think Nova would ever purposefully hurt them, she is very strong and does not know her own strength. She also is visibly overstimulated with two toddlers running around which is very understandable. We love her so much and although this breaks our hearts, she deserves a home that can give her more time and attention than we can right now. A relaxing one where she is the only pet, no kids or older ones preferably.

Santini has excellent manners and is house trained and crate trained. She would love to show off everything she has learned including sit, stay, down, and heel (for a treat of course)! Santini is happy to fit into her humans' routine and picks up quickly on new commands. She is very accommodating, walks well on a leash, and corrects/redirects easily. Santini loves to play, but is also happy to hang out with her people around the house.Santini would do best as the only dog in the house with an experienced dog owner who can maintain consistent boundaries and expectations to help her succeed and feel reassured. She is an athletic gal who loves to chase after balls and show off her signature ‘hopping prance’. She would love to have a fenced in yard or a local fenced in area so she can show off her moves! When she has finally expended all of her energy you can find her searching for the best sunbathing spot to take a snooze in. Santini is a sweet, gentle soul who wants nothing more than to be loved and make you laugh with her goofy antics. Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.April 19, 2024, 10:17 am

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: Yes, dog saavy catsGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy childrenCrate trained: Yes House Trained: YesKoda is a sweet, silly gal who is ready to give so much love to her forever humans! She is doing great in her current foster home, where her current foster shares, “Koda’s as sweet as can be. We call her a ‘spaghetti noodle’ because she is a happy wiggling little thing that twists and melts into your lap like butter for cuddles! She'll also wrap herself like a burrito into a blanket to watch tv with you, she loves that nighttime TV routine.”She gets along well with other dogs. When she meets new energetic dogs, she would prefer to have a little extra time and space to get to know them but warms up quickly. She is a medium-energy dog, where she loves to play outside in the yard or go for walks and then is content to chill on the couch with a bone or toy. Koda has a playful personality and like most pups can jump when excited because she's just so happy to see you, so she would do best with dog-savvy kids and cats. She is a lover with a big heart and adores human touch.Koda is fully crate-trained and house-trained. She will go into her crate willingly for a high value treat and is learning to eat meals in the crate. She’d make a perfect work from home buddy, as she is crated occasionally during the day and will sleep in their overnight without any issue. Koda is doing great with her leash manners and will look to you for guidance as she navigates her new environment. She is food-motivated and very trainable, as she picks up commands quickly such as ‘sit’, and working hard on ‘down’ and ‘place’.Koda is a lovebug who’s never met a stranger she doesn’t like, so please consider this gal as she’d make a wonderful addition to any home! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. Bounce is the girl for you! She has a fantastically low-key personality, is low-maintenance in terms of exercise (she's happy with a leisurely walk or spending time out in a yard rolling in the grass and enjoying the sun,) and mostly just wants to spend time with her humans, even if it means simply snoozing at their feet.Bounce is fully crate and house-trained, non-destructive, incredibly intelligent, and highly motivated by treats so you can bond with her over doggy snacks while teaching her some new tricks. Although Bounce may be a little shy around unfamiliar people or places, she looks to her humans for reassurance and enjoys weekend outings to Home Depot, where she can proudly display her exceptional leash-walking skills. Bounce thrives on the love she gets from her family and would be happiest as an only pet where she can receive ALL of the attention and affection. Whether you work from home or in an office, have a fenced yard, or live in a denser area, Bounce will adapt easily to her new home as long as you can provide Bounce an abundance of love and snuggles! Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted.
