Story
Meet Luna! Luna is a pit mix who is around 50lbs. She was found hit by a car and fostered for a bit but it was soon discovered she had a bit of separation anxiety, Luna is not a dog that can be kept in a kennel so her ideal adopter would be someone who works from home or is retired and familiar with the breed. She does take awhile to warm up to new people so if you are looking to adopt it would be ideal for you to come spend some time with her before taking her home. Luna is fully vetted including Spay, Heartworm Tested (negative), Vaccinated including Rabies as well as Microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Luna please complete our adoption application on our website at www.moberlyanimalshelter.bravesites.com

Story
I have had China since her mom gave birth to her. She is a little over a year old . She was born on thanksgiving! In a need home I’m looking for someone who can spend a lot of time with her. She’s very loving and cuddly, she’s amazing with my son. She needs a yard to run in! She gets the zoomies . I would say she’s a human like dog, she definitely has a character especially when it comes to playing, she LOVES the water.

Story
King is an active, playful, and intelligent boy! He is the biggest cuddle bug and loves car rides with the window cracked. Tug of war is his game- he will play all day! He has lived with young children in the past and loved playing with them. His previous owner said that he does well with other dogs and cats, but is very playful and and doesn't always realize how big and strong he is! He's also very smart and know how to sit and shake, for a treat of course! Volunteers say "King wanted to play for the entire time. He would have played fetch forever if you let him. He was very much into tug of war as well. He seems like a fast learner. King just needs something to do as an outlet for all that energy." "It was great spending time with him and seeing King's personality. He loves playing tug and showing his energetic side but can also be calm and sweet and just want belly rubs." "King and I took a car ride over to Grindstone Nature Area and went on a hike. On the car ride at first he was very excited and tried to sit up front but after a little driving he laid down in the back and relaxed. He loved going on the walk and is super strong so a very active person would be best for him. He is friendly to everyone and is an excellent hiking partner." "King and I decided to go on a hike at Capen park and relaxed at my apartment the rest of the day where he took a nap. King was very polite, never barked, and was very curious at every person or dog that walked past! He just wanted to sniff them and say hello! He's a very good boy and knows how to sit. And he's so gentle taking treats. King also loves belly scratches! I think he would be perfect with any type of dog owner." "We went to Stephens Lake Park and walked around, then ended our time with a pup cup. King was excited to get in the car, and enjoyed the fresh air on his face as we drove. He was curious in the car but sat well. We went on a fairly long walk around Stephens, and King was overall a good leash walker - he has a lot of energy but the only time he pulled on the leash was when we weren't walking fast enough to get to the next thing to smell. He did not lunge or jump at anything, and never barked. We then stopped for a pup cup on our way back and he seemed to really enjoy the treat. King is so gentle with people, especially for a dog with as much energy as he has."

Story
Teapot is an outgoing guy! He is ready to find an active home where he'll get lots of love! Volunteers say "I took him to Stephen's lake and he behaved very well. He stayed close to me and did not tug on the leash much until he would see a dog. Small dogs got him very excited but he would just bark a couple times and then keep moving. He only played tug of war with his leash a couple times, mostly when we were leaving or entering the shelter. We walked past little kids and I think he was slightly scared of the loud noises they were making. I'm sure if he had time to adjust, he would be okay with children. He really loves to cuddle and sit in your lap. He also likes to push or lean against you while sitting with him which is very cute. I brought a rubber bone toy and he was not very interested in it. I laid on a blanket with him and he seemed very happy. He did not try to eat or tug on the blanket at all. He was overall a very sweet and affectionate boy and I think he would do well with almost any owner or family." "Teapot warms up to new people pretty quickly. He loves to play and would be very happy if you would play a game of tug or keep away with him. He likes to stay close to his people and enjoys getting pets and belly rubs. Teapot is very responsive to commands and he appears to have had some training. He loves treats, which should make teaching him new tricks much easier." "I took Teapot to Stephen's Lake for a bit and then we got him a pup cup from Andy's which he enjoyed and then we went to Devil's icebox. He was very well behaved in all of those places and only played tug of war with his leash a couple times. He was very sweet and he walks great on his leash. He stays right by you the whole time except for maybe when he sees a squirrel. He will just get excited for a minute and then go right back to walking."

Story
Frack is a shy guy that's looking for a little extra TLC in his life. He was abandoned at the shelter by someone he thought he could trust along with his brother, Frick. He's eager to find a home where he won't have to worry about that again. He seems happy once he warms up to you! Volunteers say "Frack and I went to the Grind and got a pup cup, which he enjoyed so much. We then went to my house and met some friends, he was shy at first but quickly came around once he realized they were safe and he had a lot of fun! We also went for a drive and he sat patiently on the floors of the car and was quiet throughout the drive."

He definitely likes to pull and is more than willing to choke himself to smell something he finds interesting. He didn't lunge for cars, other dogs didn't bother him too much he was just super interested in them but has really great potential to learn tricks if someone would work with him he listens very well just doesn't understand what I was wanting. Overall such a good boy you just have to be willing to play tug of war with the leash until he's comfortable."
