Story
This big guy w/ a big heart loves exploring as much as cuddling, is a great listener & has the softest ears ever. Never begs or chews. Great in the car. Unbelievably loyal, sweet & just wants to be loved as much as he loves. FAVORITE THINGS: snoozing in the sun, playing in the hose, showing off his rubber kong toy HISTORY: spent the last year living in a house so trashed the floor was no longer visible where he was often left alone for days on end CONSIDERATIONS: Ruckus would do best in a house without a cat. He has handled my needy, sometimes unruly female pit so very well. Having them together has even helped reduce some of her fear-driven behaviors, but he can be picky about his dog friends & would want to do intros with any other dogs in the home. Ruckus is very vocal. We’ve been working to discourage barking at passerby’s & have already seen change, but moving to a home where that’ll be an issue won’t be the best fit. He’s an amazing dog & will love his forever family to pieces.

Story
Jelly Roll arrived at the ASPCA Behavioral Reabilitation Center (BRC) where he enrolled in the rehabilitation program due to fear. It was here that Jelly Roll began to learn that unfamiliar, people, objects, sounds, and real-life situations aren't as scary as he thought! Jelly Roll learned several new skills such as walking on leash, taking treats from hand, loading into a car, and going new places! He graduated from the program in June 2024, and now Jelly Roll is ready to find an adopter of his own! Jelly would love to be in a home that has a confident, social dog to teach him the ropes and continue to build his confidence in his new surroundings with new people. Playing with other dogs brings Jelly Roll a lot of joy! Jelly Roll can be shy when he is meeting new people or in new situations, but a bit of cut up cheddar cheese goes a long way to help him be more comfortable. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion to pal around with through the days, Jelly Roll could be the pup for you!

He is the most special and the sweetest boy you will ever meet! He loves cuddle!! SO much in fact that the first night we adopted him he snuggled into bed with us! He loves getting dressed up in outfits and getting tucked into a soft blanket - he is just an absolute cuddle bug. BUT that’s not to say he doesn’t have lots of energy. Zeus LOVES to play!! Zeus LOVES toys and playing around. His favorite game is tug of war! He absolutely loves being outside and running around. He loves to take walks and explore. He REALLY loves to run around an open field and chase birds! Zeus loves his people and loves so hard! Zeus has a very big personality and is truly a very special dog that will connect with you on a deep level. Zeus is so loyal and clingy and all he wants to do is love and be loved. Although Zeus is full of love he can also be a scaredy cat at times! When we adopted Zeus we were told he came from an abusive household. This can make him skidish, reactive, and anxious at times. Since we have gotten Zeus, he has grown so much. However, he does still struggle with feeling anxious and that can lead to him being reactive. For example: loud noises, yelling, high-fiving or anything that mimics anything aggressive will concern him! For this reason, it is very important that Zeus goes to a home filled with lots of love, understanding, and patience. He longs to feel safe and that is the life we hope and dream someone can provide for him. Due to Zeus’ occasional reactive behavior and anxiety it is best he goes to a home that has experience with dogs and not first time owners. We also do not know how he is around children as he has never been introduced to any. He doesn’t get along with cats. As far as behavior with others dogs, he seems to get along with most dogs. Zeus currently lives in a 1 animal household.Zeus really is an amazing dog and has SO MUCH LOVE to give! Even though he has had a troubled past, he is such a good boy and deserves every good thing in life. Our wish for Zeus is to find him a loving forever home with lots of space for him to run around and explore! If you have patience and are looking for a cuddle companion so full of love with a big personality - Zeus would be the perfect fit!Full disclosure: We are not giving up Zeus because of any of any fault of his own but because of a family emergency we have to move to a country where pitbulls are illegal to have :(. We are heartbroken as Zeus is our baby and deserves every good thing in the world!! We are really hoping someone can give him the happiest life possible! We will travel anywhere!  All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. She’s super-sweet and loves people, but seems to be easily overwhelmed by dogs.  We are unsure how she is with cats. She’s been spayed young, and I made sure to get her medical care. She pulls a bit on the leash at first but calms down and even sits on command. Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact Chrissy (321) 684-0545 / frary.christina@gmail.com or Jon (704) 361-6939 / joncharlesdwyer@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Lily is a senior, 14-year-old, 40 pound pitbull mix, in need of a soft and nurturing home with extra care for her remaining years. Lily brings a sense of comfort to all who meet her. She has a very gentle demeanor (great with children and people with disabilities), is very quiet and only barks if encouraged by other barkers in the house. She has lived with and tolerates all sorts of pets, but prefers a quiet home and can be anxious around high energy animals or humans. When on walks, other dogs who have been described as reactive even seem to get along with her calm personality. Lily (nicknames are 'Bit' and 'Pig') has been house-trained since a young puppy and can be left unsupervised at home while you're away! However, she is just as food motivated now as she was then. She may want to try your snacks, flavored medicines or stinky kitchen trash if left out - her only "naughty" habit. She would love to live with someone who works from home or is retired to give her lots of consistent company - she prefers routine and familiar faces nowadays. Her old age has recently been a learning curve, but certainly not a burden. An accessible home and fenced yard is a must! She is not as nimble as she once was - she stumbles easily, is unable to climb stairs and will wander if given the opportunity to roam. This past year she has been showing signs of Dog Dementia, specifically pacing in the middle of the night (sundowning), moments of disorientation and non-response to name calling. She is a new patient to Trazodone which has helped her sleep through the night and get through anxious days. She just completed her annual senior exam this month with no detrimental health updates! Her doctor says she simply needs extra love and attention. An easy order for an old girl who just likes to eat, sleep and snuggle. Why are we rehoming? After relocating several times these past 3 years, it's in both of our best interest to give her a secure, permanent furever home with a compatible lifestyle. Lily has been my one and only girl since she was a puppy. With her old age, vet bills and becoming more disoriented with every uproot, I want to be sure she has only one more loving transition. No fosters please, looking for a lasting adoption. Please contact Chrissy (321) 684-0545 / frary.christina@gmail.com or Jon (704) 361-6939 / joncharlesdwyer@gmail.com for further questions or to arrange a meet.  All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Story
Weston is about 4 years old. My wife found him at a rescue in Tennessee, where he was scheduled to be put down the next day. The day we got him you could see every bone in his body, his spine, his ribs, he was pitiful, but as you can see he is very healthy now. We have a 4 year old son that Weston has always got along with just fine. We also have an old beagle, and Weston have has had a couple fights with, we are unsure what started them. Besides those 3 fights they have gotten along fine to the point that we would let them sleep in the same kennel. No we do not crate them together anymore, but ive been through a hard couple years, losing my 3 1/2 month old daughter a couple years ago broke me but Weston was always there for me to lay me head into to cry or hold. This dog has got so much love in him. We dont know what the poor guy went through before we rescued him, but whatever it was had to be hard. He listens so well. He’s a big lap dog. He does like to eat, we love him

Story
Dash is an enchanting pup with a striking appearance. He is a loveable, slightly mischievous young boy and being 1-yr-old he is still in the adolescent phase, full of energy and curiosity. Dash gets excited when meeting new people and tends to be happy jumpy but once in a home and given patients, consistent training and positive reinforcement, he will learn to channel his energy and grow into a well behaved and loyal companion. This will be one that we hear wonderful happy tails about.

Story
Snorkel is fun and loving. However, he’s too big to play with cats so would be best in a cat-free home. He loves to be played with and he loves to love and snuggle. Snorkel needs a house with a yard. He gets along with everybody - adults, kids, dogs and cats. Snorkel was rescued from an abusive home but is a very good boy. Snorkel cannot be chained and he was clearly hit when he was abused. Snorkel is house-trained and will bark when he needs to use the bathroom. He has to be fed separately from any other pets. He loves treats and laying on pillows.
