Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs. Please consider this sweet girl today! Here is our application:    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Frannie is a sweet and beautiful, Blue Brindle Pittie. She's about 15 months old and weighs around 45-50lbs. She is gentle natured with lots of personality. She's super cute and will give you a silly, full body "giggle" wag! She loves being with her people and is a wonderful companion.   Frannie has done well with her crate training and house breaking. She needs to be crated when left home alone (6-7 hours), and as of now she is crated overnight. She's food & toy motivated, eager to please and is learning basic manners. She is gentle with food and waits patiently for her meals. At times, she still acts like a puppy, but overall she has good impulse control and likes to chill on a dog bed and entertain herself with a bone or toy.   Fran overall has great leash manners but may need reminders to "settle/leave it" when something excites her. She can be an alert barker and would do best in a home not an apartment. Although, she goes potty well on leash, she would really enjoy a fenced yard to get her "zoomies" out. She has a moderate energy level and after playtime with her foster siblings, she enjoys exploring the yard and sunbathing on porch or lounging on couch/bed. She also likes to play fetch and learning to bring back.   Frannie would do best with good natured, neutered male dog that could help guide her when she's unsure. She would do ok as an only too as she loves getting attention from her humans. She would do ok with older kids (8+). She's good with "dog savvy" cats, but if kitty is shy and runs, the chase may be fun -slow and appropriate intros are always recommended with kitties.   Like many other rescue dogs, Frannie had an unstable start to life and has some insecurities, but she will open up quickly with treats and sweet talk. She has been in foster care for over 9 months and has come along away from the shy puppy she was. She would succeed greatly with a dog experience owner that can continue to build her confidence. Breed experience is always appreciated, but she would be fine for a first time Pit Bull owner. Please consider adopting (or fostering) this sweet little lady!   Check out Frannie's videos below! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   If you are interested in Skye, please submit an application at  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCN. She would love to meet you!   Skye is an adorable Pittie pup with soft, expressive eyes that will melt your heart. This pretty girl is gentle natured and has a sweet, affectionate personality. She can be unsure in new surroundings and may need a little encouragement with treats/toys & happy talk - but it doesn't take long for her to open up and be a silly, happy puppy.    She's food motivated and will be an easy learner with someone that is dedicated to training. When excited, she may jump, but she's eager to please and redirects nicely with a verbal "off" and/or "sit". Surprisingly, she has good impulse control for a puppy, especially if food is involved. She has even learned to sit & wait patiently for her meals! She's doing great with her potty & crate training - she may whine at first in crate, but will usually settle and entertain herself with a toy or bone. She is learning leash manners with an Easy Walk harness.  She also enjoys car.    Skye loves playing with her foster siblings and would thrive with having a well-mannered, neutered male sibling to help teach and guide her. She would do ok as an only dog with a family that is committed to training, socialization and confidence building. She's been tested with a couple older, "dog tolerant" kitties and is respectful of them. She loves children and would be a wonderful family dog.     Every dog has their story:  Skye was posted as a "Free Puppy" on Craigslist and a BFPA volunteer happened to stumble across her ad. Knowing that the situation could possibly turn out bad for this little cutie, she scooped her up and reached out for assistance. Come to find out, before coming to BFPA, baby Skye was tossed from home to home (to no fault of her own). She was in 4 different homes during the first 4 months of her puppyhood. This poor girl never experienced stability during the most important time of her life. She is craving for someone to give her all the love & attention she's been needing. With a little patience, guidance and security, Skye will bond strong with her family and be a wonderful companion.    Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.      Applicants must live no further than one hour from Raleigh/Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian /volunteer for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Adopters must be willing to bring their dog to the Raleigh/Cary area for all medical care needed.  Foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within one hour drive of Raleigh/Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SKYE? Story
Griffin is a charming young pup with a delightful personality! Smart, friendly and playful, he adores all toys, and is always up for an adventure. Eager to please and motivated by tasty treats, Griffin is attentive when practicing basic commands. He has mastered a beautiful "sit" and "down," and he is fully crate-trained. After a busy day of sniffing and playing with his foster sisters, he's happy to rest in his crate with a tasty peanut butter kong, and he sleeps through the night in his crate. Since Griffin is very curious and wants to learn about everything, crating when unattended remains the safest option for this inquisitive guy. Griffin would benefit from continued training on a leash. He pulls because he is very excited to see everything he can as he walks. He barks and pulls when passing people and dogs but is working on keeping eye contact with his walker. At this time Griffin will require a detached home with a fenced yard. Griffin's current favorite outside play is anything involving a ball! He LOVES a super-bouncy ball and returns it for another throw. He also enjoys sniffing for treats as we walk around the fenced yard; lounging in the sun and chewing on a ball is a great way for him to spend an afternoon. He has interacted with children but is jumpy with the excitement of meeting new friends, so for now, older children would be the best fit for him. Griffin likes other dogs but requires a slow introduction. Once he's comfortable with new dog friends, all's well and he follows their cues. When he's not busy playing or training, Griffin wants nothing more than pets and snuggles. A lovable cuddle bug, he curls up right next to you once he's worn himself out. Griffin will thrive in an environment that will keep him active, engaged, and supervised. Smart, spunky Griffin will only continue to blossom in a patient and loving forever home! Could that be you? HEALTH Griffin is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. HISTORY Griffin came from a local shelter.

Story
Eros is all the puppy energy you could ask for in a fully grown medium sized dog. Sweet, smart and easy to train, this boy loves to play with dogs, cats, and people. He's crate trained and house trained. This little pit mix is the definition of super chewer! He loves to gnaw gnaw gnaw his toys, so teeth-safe durable toys are a must! He will happily take on destuffing a plush toy, though he tends to try to ingest anything he shreds, so supervised destuffing is necessary.Eros LOVES couches! He has shown little interest in sleeping on the bed with his foster siblings/parents. His go-to sleep, nap, and sit place is the couch.Eros would love a dog sibling to play with, and while he likes cats, he can be a bit much, so any feline siblings need to be dog savvy and have places to get up and away from his antics. He is learning leash manners, but will need continued education in this area. He's not aggressive, just impatient and overly excited to gogogo.Adoption fee of $150 includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: http://2pawsup.org/2pawsup_wp/forms/adoption-form/April 22, 2024, 5:50 am

Story
Sasha is such a sweet girl. She was brought to the shelter full of milk and emaciated. It was obvious she had a tough start to life. This sweet girl deserves her happily ever after. She is extremely loving and doesn't know a stranger. She is happy to meet anyone as long as they provide tons of head scratches. She's doing well with potty, leash and crate training. She will need someone to continue her lessons. She's very smart and treat motivated. She is very excited when meeting new dogs and has done well with them off her home turf. Sasha is protective of her home, so it is important that she be the only pet.  Apply to meet Sasha and you're sure to get a new best friend. Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: http://2pawsup.org/2pawsup_wp/forms/adoption-form/April 22, 2024, 5:50 am

Story
Blu is a 3 year old Female APBT. She is loving and energetic! She loves to go outside and play at the dog park. Blu is also great with people and Looking for a loving home where she has lots of room to run around and chase squirrels and tire herself out. I would recommend her being the only pet but with close observation and care/ training for her behavior I think she will adapt to other dogs. Blu can be stubborn at times but with close care and supervision I feel her behavior can change for the better.
