Story
Hero is 9 years old and has been with me since he was 8 weeks old. He’s a very good house trained dog. He loves his toys. Going for walks and playing. Our issues. Hero has got such a strong bound with me that when I’m playing with my 3 year old son he gets jealous. He barks and cry’s making it very difficult to play. He doesn’t do it with anyone else but me. We also live in a small town house and work lots of hours. I’m hoping to find someone that has a yard and has time to play with him. Last my wife is from Ireland and we travel at least once a year for an extended time. He stays with my parents but they’re getting older and have a hard time managing him and their own dog. Hero gets along with their dog and most dogs I can take time to introduce him to. We have had issues with male dogs though. Usually a no go with all male dogs. Hero is a very loyal and sweet dog. I’m hoping to find him a loving home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! My name is Ireland Skye, aren’t I a beauty? I’m an almost 4 year old, 55lb pitbull mix, and my foster mom says I am such a special girl! She says if she didn’t already have 4 dogs, she’d keep me forever. I am a very fun girl. I love to run and play, with both my human and dog friends! I’m told I sometimes play too rough, but it’s just because I have such a zest for life! And probably because I haven’t gotten much of an opportunity to play until now! So, I’m still learning what’s appropriate. But I’m a very good girl! If you need to correct me, I will listen. I love toys and balls. I love playing in the water. I love taking walks and going on car rides. I loooove snuggles. Foster mom says I “have no regard for personal space” haha, but she says that’s okay, because I’m a great snuggle. She says older kids would be best though, because I’ll probably knock the little ones over. Sometimes something silly scares me – like a broom. So a family who would take me to training to help me with my confidence would be cool. I’m already house trained and crate trained, though, so we have a head start! Here's something super special about me - my adoption fee is SPONSORED! Mountain West Veterinary Specialists have generously offered to help me find my forever home by paying my fee!  All our regular adoption criteria apply, of course, so you have to have an approved application. You will also need to agree to take me to training classes. If you think I could be the girl for you, apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 8:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. A recent conversation with Luna Lovebug, our 2 year old pit bull mix. Luna: Mama what is a foster dog? Me: It means you stay with us and we take care of you until we find your forever family. Luna: A forever family sounds great. How do I find one? Me: Well, I tell people what a great pup you are and they apply to meet you. Luna: What makes me a great pup? Me: You really love to snuggle and you are quiet in your kennel and you almost always potty outside. Luna: I do love snuggles and my kennel is a nice safe place. Luna: How can I be an even better dog? Me: You could work on being calm when the kids walk in and not being grouchy with other dogs. Luna: I’m only grouchy every once in a while Me: You’re right and you love almost all dogs but you and Ace are sometimes not friends. Luna: Okay I will try to be friendly all the time. Me: Good, anything else I should tell a family looking for a good dog? Luna: Yes, tell them I love to play and I am pretty sure I am a lap dog and don’t forget that I am adorable. Me: Okay I will. You heard it here. Luna Lovebug is a great dog looking for her forever family. This sweet girl is a 1-year-old pit mix. She is full grown at about 40lbs, so is an adorable litle pocket pittie! Luna has a lot of energy and loves to use that energy playing with dogs of all sizes. She would love a doggy friend in her forever home! She also loves people of all ages and just wants to snuggle. Sometimes she forgets she needs to be calm to cuddle, but she is learning how to chill. Luna is kennel trained and mostly housetrained; she has the occasional accident. She does not do well with cats; she thinks they are fun squeaky toys. This sweet girl does really well on a leash and loves car rides. Luna is looking to join an active family where she can get all the attention and love she deserves. If you think Luna could be the Lovebug you’re looking for, apply to meet her today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 8:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! My name is Feeny, I am a 2 1/2 year old, male, pit/German shepherd mix. I am very large with the biggest heart to match. My foster mama has been teaching me all about manners and I am doing really well. I don’t have any accidents in the house and I love sleeping in my kennel at night with my favorite stuffy. I walk like a gentleman on a leash and I know a few commands. I am looking for a family that is willing to take me on walks or hikes everyday and loves playing tug just as much as I do. Puzzle toys and training is also really exciting to me, I love learning new tricks. I am great with all people, however because of my size and energy I would do best without little kids around. I love to play with other dogs, but my foster mama says I have something called a prey drive and she doesn’t think I would mind my manners around small dogs or cats. Overall I am a pretty easy boy, apply to meet me at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 8:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Have you been looking for that perfect companion? You know the one, the one that chooses you over anything else? Well, then I’m glad my picture caught your attention because you’ve found her!   Hi, I’m Raeya! I’m sure you can see from the picture, I’m a mutt. My foster family thinks a bull terrier mix, possibly with a border collie, but so far they say no breed traits have been overwhelmingly present. What that means is, I’m a family dog, I have a good amount of energy, but I don’t try to herd the toddlers of the family! I like to chill with you too! I need an outlet for my energy or my pacing might put you a little on edge, but I’ve been working on my treadmill skills for cold days. Really, if I have another dog (or cat, I’m not picky) to play with, I can get my energy out that way! I am a petite girl and weigh about 35lbs. I'm almost 2 years old, which that puts me at a great age for any type of owner! I do well with men, women, kids, cats, dogs, you name it! I’m kennel trained and mostly house trained (I took some adjusting, but I’ve been accident free for a little while now). I’m working on my commands, but one thing my foster mom says she’s really happy with is my recall and my desire to be home and not run away! And the good news is, as much as I want to be where the people are (can you guess the music we listen to with the kids?), I don’t have separation anxiety; I do great alone too! I’d prefer to have a pet friend to play with since I know people get busy with stuff, but if you’ve got time for me, that’s all I really need. I’ve lived with toddlers who don’t put their things away and run around like their on cat nip and I’m not destructive and I’m gentle! I love giving them kisses if they’ll let me, but family says I’m not too pushy. Really, all I want is a family to love and give me a home for life! I spent a lot of time in the shelters and the staff is kind, but they’re not ‘mine’. If you have a desire for a companion that is low maintenance, not picky, but still eager, you’ve found her!   Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 8:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Duncan Doggie, He is a 5 year old 67 pound Pit Bull (possibly a mix, there is no way to really know for sure in rescue) that has a lot of love to give but will need some special care in his furever home. Duncan has a lot of love to give and is overall a very happy and healthy boy but it took a lot of time, love and some medical care to get him there.  Duncan Doggie was found dumped on the grounds of Avenal State Prison in California June of last year and no one really knows how he got there. He was covered in wounds that were either from other dogs or coyotes, missing a majority of his fur, skin rubbed raw, and a lot of his teeth were broken. A volunteer at the Avenal shelter posted a TikTok in hopes that a rescue would pull him and give him the medical attention he needed and the love he deserved, that is where I found him. I instantly fell in love with him and drove the 1800 mile round trip to pick him up and bring him back to Northern Utah.    He is the biggest love bug and will gladly accept scratches and cuddles from any humans big or small! He loves to run around in the yard, play tug of war, play fetch, and if you are lucky he will even bring the ball back to you! True to his breed he also loves being lazy, he has his favorite purple minky that he stole from me and will go with him to his forever home for him to cuddle to his heart's content. He currently lives with children aged 3-14 and he is wonderful with all of them, sometimes he will get the wiggle butts and his tail could make him considered armed and dangerous, other than that though he is a complete sweetheart. Unfortunately due to his past he is fear reactive to any adult dogs and an addendum will be included in his adoption contract. He has loved every single puppy I've fostered in the last 8 months like it was his own but any adult dogs at home or in public terrify him and make him get full body shakes and then turn to aggression if he can't be removed from the other dog immediately.    Since having Duncan here he has made huge strides in his health and he has been the happiest, most loving foster from the second I picked him up. We discovered that his fur was missing and skin was raw due to food allergies, he needs to be on a grain and poultry free diet to prevent that from happening again in the future, he is currently eating a salmon based food and thriving on it. In addition to his allergies he was in need of a complete dental and is down 14 teeth but that doesn't stop him from eating dry food and enjoying treats like any other dog. He is resilient and has not let a single negative thing slow him down, he is truly a special dog.   If you are interested in giving this handsome man a safe and happy home where he can be an only dog you can apply to meet him at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 8:15 pm
