Story
Quinn loves her person to no end. She’s a GREAT companion...and we mean AMAZING. Playing with her is an amazing experience! She retrieves, plays tug and keep-away. She’s great on leash. Quinn's foster home has other dogs, but she doesn't seek the other dogs out for play. She is really just all about her person/people, so would be a great only dog. She’s beautiful, loving and very cuddly. She greets every morning with a big hug! She is not a barker. She prefers a couch to a kennel and enjoys a car ride. Quinn is a consistent 48lbs. She’s a pretty calm girl with med/low energy except when excited about a leash or a toy. She can be over enthusiastic about greeting new people, but we can tell you more about how to do that properly. She's a smart girl, so best suited for someone smarter than her (has dog savvy or experience). Quinn was nearly euthanized at the shelter and we are SO glad we saved her. We are in LOVE with Quinn. She will make someone very happy. She'd be great with a person, a couple or family with older kids - just as long as it's the right fit! Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org   ##1404676##

Story
Hello, friends! My name is Luna and I'm a sweet girl who is a homebody. When I'm not on a walk with my foster, you can find me playing with my kong, chewing on a bone, sunbathing, or napping! I can be a little shy and anxious. I get overstimulated easily by other dogs with big personalities, so I would do best as the only dog in your home. I need a strong handler who has the patience to help me build trust and independence by continuing to reinforce boundaries and structure. My foster mom says I'm really special, that I connect incredibly well with my caretaker when we're away from distractions and I feel safe. I would prefer a calm lifestyle where I get to decompress and relax at home. It would be nice if there aren't too many frequent guests around, that way I can settle into a routine. I can't wait to meet you!
