Story
In a world of fur and joy, there's a Heeler named Brownie, oh so coy, With fur as red as autumn leaves, he's the cleverest of canine thieves. At two, he's full of boundless glee, a furry friend for you and me. Smart as a whip, this Heeler boy, his heart's a treasure, a boundless joy. In tricks and flips, he finds delight, learning with all his canine might. Two years old, his spirit free, a loyal friend, he longs to be. Attuned to you, his person dear, his love's a bond that's crystal clear. Bestest friend, he aims to be, beside you through eternity. Fetch and roll, and sit and stay, he'll dance and prance, bright as the day. With every bark, a tale he'll weave, of loyalty that won't deceive. He dreams of walks and treats galore, his heart, your love, forevermore. Brownie, the Heeler, red and bright, a canine star, a pure delight. In fields of green and skies so blue, he'll be the bestest friend to you. Brownie has the desire to be with his person and would make a great and loving support dog or full time companion. He is focused on his people (and the belly rubs they give!!!) Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac is a ham, you can't see it in his pictures but he LOVES attention :) He is good with other dogs and happy to be a friend or he could be an only dog and BASK in the undivided attention :) He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Story
Comes with equipment to help ensure comfortable rehoming. Opal wants to be by your side at all times and loves to snuggle. I adopted her and her brother around 5 years ago as a package deal. They have been great pets, but redirect anxiety on each other which gets amplified if another dog is barking at them. I’m giving Opal up because they had an incident where a sitter let them out into the neighborhood for a couple hours unsupervised and they got into a scuffle with another dog that ended with the other owner getting bit when he reached into the dog fight. Because of this I want to split Opal and her brother up so that they won’t hype each other up and can each live more relaxed lives. Opal reacts to other dogs with whining and barking. Other than that she is excellent with people. I’ve had her behavior evaluated and she is good with men and women and has been around kids. She is a great inside dog that will shower you with love. She also loves treat training.

Story
Phoebe is a 4-5 year old heeler/terrier mix who weighs about 45 lbs. She will need an experienced owner who would like to continue basic manners work, and she's fully house/crate trained. She won't be a dog park dog as she needs a couple one-on-one meets to love other pups. No cats or small kids in her forever home, sorry! She has a big herding instinct. She's a love bug who is searching for someone to teach her how to be a good pet, and will play fetch all day long. She and her foster mom have been attending sessions with Kai's Training Academy, and the trainer will assist in her transition to her new home as well. Apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org to meet Phoebe! All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Age: 11 yearsWeight: 35 poundsLocation: RescueMeet Roo! She is 11 years old and weighs 35 pounds. She is mostly blind and would do best in a home without little kids because she is a little nervous still and can be weird around her food. She doesn’t quite understand steps yet but once she gets somewhere she can learn the lay of the land, I’m sure she will be fine, we’ve had lots of blind dogs and they adapt very well! She is a sweet girl and would do so much better in a home than she’s doing at the rescue BUT the longer she spends at the rescue the more comfortable she is getting! She is good with dogs her size and larger but seems too interested in small dogs. Roo needs a hero!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
My given name from my foster mom is exactly who I am. Asta... this name means "divine strength", "love", and "star-like". I was abandoned by my first family on the side of the highway for a few months with my sister Kinsley. She was my protector during that time. I was terribly traumatized by being abandoned. Today I'm a shining star with beautiful grey eyes that match my coat. I like to play and go on backyard adventures with my sister and dog foster family. I like everyone and get along with other dogs and I'm a bit submissive and respectful towards everyone. I have beautiful pleading grey eyes that draw attention and make most ppl say awwwww and have a low key nature about me. We love each other very much and want to stay together for life! Please find it in your heart to adopt us together! We promise years of love and fun :) Local adoption fee together is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee together is $600 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
I'm a beautiful girl. I had a litter of puppies and now I'm ready to make a life of my own. I'm deaf - so I'm a special girl, but with patience and time - you'll see, I will reward you with a lifetime of love. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. No need to call to find out about me, you can ask questions on the application or email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1961070##
