Hello! My name is Sandy, an adorable puppy looking for a forever home! We cute, soft bundles of energy are, in many ways, like four-legged toddlers with tails. And, like children, us puppies need a lot of time, care, love and understanding. We will depend on you for guidance and training and a lot of your time and your love. If you have the time and energy to devote to caring for me, you will gain an amazing companion!

Story
Meet Skit! He is patiently awaiting his new forever home and can't wait to see what his new life has in store. Here at the shelter, Skit seems to be at his best when he is hanging out with his favorite people. He also will never say "no" to a good old-fashioned walk where he can sniff to his heart's content. He was a little anxious when entering the hustle and bustle of the shelter environment but will likely show his more playful side when he settles into his new home. This guy is also very food-motivated and already knows some cool tricks. He will "sit" and jump in the air to catch treats tossed to him. He would love to work with you on more amazing tricks to impress any future party guests. In his previous home Skit enjoyed the company of cats and dogs and may enjoy having a calm and laid-back animal friend in his new home. Does Skit sound like the perfect pup for you? Ask to meet him today!Ideal home for Skit: - must meet dogs, can be overbearing when playing with other dogs

Story
Poe is an amazing dog and is smart and friendly. He weighs 65lbs, has a chip, and is up-to-date on all his vaccines. He loves to cuddle and play. He is high-energy and would do well with a family with kids who love to throw the ball or chase him around or someone who likes to go for a walk or run. He picks up tricks very easily and he is trained on ringing the bell at the door to go outside. We also use an invisible fence with our dogs. We do have a cat that he is very interested in, he likes to chase her sometimes but that's about it. We have 3 kids between 7 and 13 who are not as enthusiastic about dogs as my husband and I, and we both work so Poe is often left in the cage during the day and not able to get the exercise and play he needs. I would love to see him get the attention he deserves. He would make an amazing best friend and companion.

Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Carly on Adopt-a-pet. home, listens to commands; sit, stay, come, bring it, drop it, up, down...she's super smart and attentive. She's the best sidekick for car rides, this girl loves to feel the breeze in her face, enjoys 70's country music, and isn't picky where you stop to eat. Carly is housetrained, with that she has an old lady bladder, don't laugh you know exactly what I'm talking about, girl needs to potty every 6 hours. She does go to the door and pace to get your attention; she does sleep through the night. Her size, temperament, and beauty are perfect, she will be loyal until the end. Speaking of the end, that is the only downside if you want to look at it that way. We removed a lip mass from Carly, it came back spindle cell sarcoma. Likely to recur locally with potential for local invasion into the adjacent tissues. It is unlikely this mass was completely excised and will recur at some time in the future within months to years. The mass is unlikely to metastasize. Being 12 years old does not slow Carly down in any way, she's the fastest girl in the race, the best tug partner, and has a total zest for life. She's also the best napper and loves to sleep on the floor in her bed next to your bed.

Story
Lucy is 7 years old and was purchased as a puppy from an individual seller. She is fixed, but is a little overdue for her shots. She is very playful and friendly, LOVES people and going for walks. She gets along well with cats and children. She does not do well with other dogs, becoming aggressive and feeling threatened. Small dogs are not as much of a problem for her. With proper training, she could do well with a small dog or puppy. Sadly, my family is going through a major transition and we are not able to provide Lucy the attention and exercise she needs. Lucy needs a home where she will receive regular exercise and attention. She will shower you with love in return!

Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Stripes is a 1 y/o (dob 8/20/22) neutered male dog. He is medium in size weighing around 35-40#. Stripes brindle color and body shape lead is to believe he is a Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, chipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. Stripes has been around a 3 y/o child and did well but was a bit skittish of kid activity. Therefore, we believe Stripes would be more comfortable with older kids. He loves other dogs and plays well with others. Stripes knows to do his business outside and keeps the house and his kennel clean. He can be shy at first but warms up quickly. He does well with other dogs and they help him build his confidence. Stripes loves his human and likes to be close to them when he isn’t playing with other dogs. He does put himself in his kennel while his foster mom gets her work done. Stripes may take a while to warm up but once he's comfortable he's very loving. He is very loyal to his main human. He feels comfort in his crate and enjoys furry toys. Stripes is a laid back guy who loves nothing more than a cozy bed, belly rubs and human snuggles. Stripes loves car rides and does well just in the car and not in a crate. This sweet boy is looking for a caring home that will help him continue to build his confidence. He is being taken care of in TN but no worries because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Breed: Aussie/Setter Mix Sex: Male Age: Approx. 6 Months Weight: 40 lbs Location: OH Good with other dogs: Yes, medium to large dogs Good with Cats: No Good with Kids: Over 12 years of age required Crate trained: Yes, but doesn’t love it Housebroken: Yes Health: Good Who said black dogs can’t take a good photo? This is Vader, and true to his name, he has a lot of character. Vader is approximately six months old and going through a rowdy teenage phase. Vader has had the luxury of multiple doggie friends in his foster home to play with and would benefit from being adopted into a multi-dog household. He does have a high prey drive, so cats and smaller dogs (under 25lbs) are not a good fit. Due to his unknown background with socialization as a puppy, we feel he benefits from having another dog to learn the ropes from. Vader loves to talk and make sure his family knows all of his thoughts and feelings. He would not be a good candidate for an apartment or townhouse because of this – we are sure your neighbors will love him more without his feelings being shared through a communal wall. Vader is still navigating puppyhood and will require a family dedicated to his training and helping him become the best doggie citizen. He has strong shepherd-like instincts and behaviors so we feel his best fit would be a family with previous shepherd experience. We don’t expect training to be difficult as he is a quick learner - This young dude can learn a new trick in less than a day! The ideal family will be patient and have a good understanding of dog behavior. Vader is going through a teenage phase right now and needs an owner that understands how to read his cues and work through his stubbornness. If you’re looking for a new family member to enjoy all of your adventures with, apply for Vader!
