Story
Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Mix Hello! My name is Jace and they say I'm an ACE! Not sure what that means, but I THINK it means I'm special. I'm pretty sure I have a rather high doggie IQ because I catch on to things very easily. I watch the humans very closely, and try to figure out what they want me to do. I've learned some of the things they want, and am hoping there will be some person I can call my own, who will teach me many other things. I've been sad because my old person died. Me and my buddy, Tobias, were left in the house with him for a long time and it seemed like nobody would ever come and help us. We grieved for our human, and were scared nobody would come. But they finally did. Then we went to a very loud and crazy shelter and had to stay in a super small kennel that mostly was dirty and we hated that. Finally, someone else came and got us and now we're at a better place with nice folks who say they are going to help us get a new family to love. Oh, I'm hoping for that day!!! I am a good boy - I promise. I get along with dogs, and want to please my people. I was house trained when I lived with my person, and so I'm pretty sure I can be good about that. I LOVE treats and can catch them in the air! I know how to sit and stay. I love going for walks, and just hanging out with people inside. Oh, to have my own soft, comfy bed and a nice person to call mine again - I hope it is not just a dream. I am 3 y/o and 55 lbs. I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines, and stuff so you won't have to do any of that. Please pick me. I will be your very best friend. *****Jace is up to date on all dewormings, preventatives and is HW negative. He's been neutered, and microchipped. He's a wonderful dog and we're looking for an equally wonderful person to be by his side. Super smart as his breed would suggest - all kinds of potential with this boy. Well behaved inside. Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

FENNIC is a very affectionate, sweet loving boy. He has a lot of energy and a lot of love to share. He is very responsive and is bonds very well with humans. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. CHIP was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024. CHIP is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of 26 March 2023 and in April 2024 weighed 28 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. CHIP is adorable, smart, high energy, loving, affectionate, fun, goofy and did I mention high energy? He shares a kennel with two dogs that came from Oman and has been great in helping them adapt and has been teaching them how to play, wrestle and enjoy toys - something they had not experienced before. Chip is true to his breed in that he can be a little mouthy and he does like to let you know how he is feeling when you are not paying him the attention he deserves and thinks he needs lol. Chip needs an active family and one that understands the breed and that they are a herding breed, they can get nippy if they are not taught to not do that. He is super smart, a lot of fun and will learn quick and will be the best companion to the right family. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page    to see a LOT of pictures and videos.
