Archie is a sweet, goofy, affectionate boy once he gets to know you. He loves playing with squeaky toys, carrying his stuffed toys around the house and nibbling on pig ear treats (supervised of course). He is happy playing fetch or sniffing around any toys full of treats he can find. He’s an amazing work from home companion and will fall asleep at your feet during the day. You can count on him to want to show off his tricks and will always let you know when he wants to play fetch! Archie has been in Canada for 5 years, having previously arrived with his siblings here as a puppy. Since then, he was adopted but his family added a baby to the household, and poor Archie was not a fan and was quite jealous. Because of this, Archie was surrendered back to us and is currently in foster care looking for a new home without any young kids so he can soak up all the attention. Archie would love to be in a home in the suburbs with a fenced backyard so he can run around and play. He is fearful of unexpected sounds on walks, but with a patient and gentle approach he is learning to walk without pulling. While he builds his confidence, it would be great if he had a back yard to help him burn off some energy. He is medium energy and currently gets his exercise in the backyard or other fenced in areas. Archie is a flight risk, so is it important he is kept on a leash when not indoors or in a fenced-in area. Archie currently goes on 2 walks per day that last between 10 and 15 minutes but he does need some gentle guidance as he gets distracted about the idea of going home , getting into a car and will pull away from loud noises Archie is very friendly with people he knows and is playful and cuddly. His current family always asks new guests to let Archie come to them when they enter the home, and he soon comes to make a new friend after being initially a little nervous. Archie is comfy around other dogs and behaves well when socializing off leash. He would do best with a canine companion to show him the ropes. Archie is potty and crate trained and is comfortable being left alone during the day for up to five hours. He sleeps well throughout the night either in his crate with the door open or on another spot on the floor. He loves predictability and routine and is fearful of loud noises like thunder, fireworks, construction, and loud vehicles. Indoors, he knows commands like sit, come, lie down, head down, up, stand, spin, touch, speak, and even play dead - he is treat motivated indoors and a quick learner! Outdoors, his nerves get the best of him and he is not as attentive and does not have great recall. He is looking for a family that will continue to work with him on this. Archie has environmental allergies and takes medication for this, which is partially covered by pet insurance already in place. This will also partially be covered by the previous pet insurance. Adopters can convert this over to them once adopted. To ensure Archie is set up for life-long success, his new family will be required to sign up for and complete 3 training classes with an approved, positive-reinforcement based professional trainer. (Proof required). Details to be discussed upon application. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting Archie, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Archie’s adoption fee is $250. This sweet, cuddle-loving, and adorably goofy boy is ready to find his forever family, and he's about to take your heart by storm! Rocket is ready for the journey towards a loving home. He may not have had the best start in life, but he's an open book, free from past traumas. As he hasn't received any training thus far, his new family will need to be dedicated to working with him on all the basics. From crate training to potty training, leash manners, and mastering essential commands like sit, down, and stay – Rocket is eager to learn and please. Having spent his entire life outdoors, patience in potty training will be crucial. Rocket's breed is known for its herding instincts, so it's essential that his future family understands his unique needs. Mental enrichment, such as slow feeders and puzzle toys, combined with intentional physical exercise, like walks, tug-of-war, and fetch, will be key to keeping Rocket both physically and mentally happy. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bluefin / Male / 3 years old / 60 pounds / Australian Cattle Dog / from Tennessee Meet Bluefin, this shy but spunky boy is seeking a patient and caring home to show him the good life! Bluefin was found as a stray. Although we don’t know his past, he is more timid around strangers but is eager for affection once he’s learned he can trust you. Bluefin is independent, yet enjoys playtime with dogs of similar temperament and would benefit from a confident resident dog to show him the world isn't scary. With an unknown past, he requires work on training, from the basics and beyond. He's treat-motivated, making positive progress through training achievable. Bluefin prefers a leash-free space, so a home with a yard is ideal, and a harness can aid in positive leash associations. We are not aware if Bluefin has house or crate exposure, but he finds comfort in his safe space like his dog house and would benefit from a special crate/dog bed he can resort to for space. To help him thrive, Bluefin needs an experienced family in a calm and quiet environment that can offer him patience to build his confidence. He will require time to decompress and his family should respect his need for space aa he adjusts. He is best suited for a home with older or no kids. Don't miss his unique quirk – his tail wags up and down, adding to his irresistible charm. If you're ready to provide a loving home, Bluefin is ready to steal your heart with his sweet personality and charming tail wags. Bluefin tested positive for Ehrlichia which is a common tick-borne disease that stays in the bloodstream for many years. This has been treated and, moving forward, regular yearly bloodwork would be recommended. Although this should not cause any issues moving forward, it's important that if Bluefin requires surgery or dental work in the future, pre-operative blood work (CBC+Platelet count) should be completed beforehand. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Bluefin’s adoption fee is $850. Despite facing some tough times, this sweet pup is ready to embrace a brighter future with a loving family. Jessie's journey began when she was surrendered by a caring older gentleman, who, unfortunately, could no longer provide the care she deserved. Alongside three other furry friends, Jessie found herself in a small, unkempt pen, longing for the comfort and companionship she craved. Despite the challenges she's faced, Jessie's spirit remains unbroken. Living in such conditions has left Jessie a bit shy and withdrawn. She may initially seem reserved, but underneath her timid exterior lies a world of love waiting to be discovered. Jessie finds solace in the company of other canines and would make a great second dog. She has a truly lively spirit with a zest for life that would make her an amazing adventure buddy. While Jessie is unfamiliar with the concept of leash walking she would benefit from a home with a yard while working on desensitizing her. She may freeze up at first, but with patience and understanding, she'll soon find her stride. Jessie has never had the joy of living indoors so she will also need consistency with potty training. Her new family should be committed to working with her through all basic training and general obedience. With the right environment and a patient hand, Jessie is destined to blossom into the confident and loving companion she was always meant to be. Jessie currently lives alongside another dog; having a confident canine companion in her new home will help show her that her new world isn't so scary. She has not been tested with kids or cats and we feel that a calmer environment will allow her true colours to shine through much sooner. With a little time, patience, and a whole lot of love, Jessie promises to be the loyal companion you've been dreaming of. As a condition of her adoption, Jessie is required to wear a Tractive brand GPS collar. The cost of the device and subscription will be the responsibility of her adoptive family. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Jessie's adoption fee is $850.
