Story
Meet Owen! Owen is a spirited and intelligent young working breed pup ready to find his forever home! At just 1 year old, Owen is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm, seeking an experienced owner who understands his needs and can provide him with the guidance and stimulation he craves. Owen is a training enthusiast's dream - his intelligence is evident in his quick learning and eagerness to please. His high energy levels mean he's always up for an adventure, whether it's hiking trails, going for runs, or engaging in mentally stimulating activities. Owen is a go-getter and thrives when he has a job to do, making him an ideal candidate for agility training, obedience competitions, or other challenging activities that harness his natural abilities. While Owen's exuberance is infectious, his energy is not for every household. He would do best in a home with an experienced owner who can provide consistent training, structure, and boundaries. Patience, positive reinforcement, and a firm yet gentle hand will help Owen reach his full potential. In addition to his love for activities, Owen is incredibly affectionate, loyal and forms strong bonds with his humans. He's a social butterfly with people and has enjoyed the company of other dogs after proper introductions. However, due to his exuberance, a home without small children would be most suitable for Owen.  A fenced yard where he can safely burn off his energy and engage in play would be a great bonus for this active pup. If you believe you're the perfect match for Owen, please reach out to our adoption team to learn more about this exceptional dog.  In the meantime, be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Owen's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website!     ##1881592##

Meet Cricket! Cricket is a young heeler mix puppy that was taken in along with his brother by a local couple who came across them being sold outside of a store. There were no other siblings or mama dog with them. Cricket has been living in a foster home the last couple weeks working on potty training, socialization and has even learned how to sit, lie down and shake! His foster mom says he is a happy, playful puppy who loves other dogs, is almost fully potty trained and is a cuddle bug when its nap time. We suspect Cricket will be a medium sized dog full grown. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! Story
Hi! My name is Thorett. I used to live on a farm with my 3 fur siblings but my dad got a new job and we had to move to town. Now we are temporarily staying with grandma and grandpa but they can’t have more than 3 pets in their neighborhood. I am 5years old. I love to play outside, play inside with toys and chewey things, snuggle with my people and play with my fur siblings.

Story
Meet Alfie If you're looking for a well-rounded companion, look no further than Alfie! He's just as content curling up next to you (or on your lap) while watching a movie as he is playing tug-o-war. He enjoys being outside and smelling new things on his walks. He is completely unfazed by squirrels, great on a slip leash, and would make a great running buddy! Alfie is always down for a road trip and recently had a blast at the beach with his foster mom! He loads up easily to "get up or "up and knows other basic commands. He's house trained and sleeps in a kennel if needed. His best friend is his foster brother, Oliver, who is a 4 year old, 70 lb Catahoula mix. Alfie tends to get along best with younger dogs that are submissive and playful like Oliver. We suggest a meet n greet with resident dogs. He has been great with children (5+) who have come up to pet him, gently licking their faces. Alfie seems to be under the impression that he's supposed to catch a ball with his paws instead of his mouth. He hasn't quite mastered that method, so he just ends up losing track of the ball and making everyone laugh at his goofy quirk. He also loves to be petted and will nudge you if you stop, indicating that you're not done petting him just yet! The ideal home for Alfie would be a house with a fenced yard. He loves being in the same room as his human(s). He's currently left inside for 6-8 hours a day, sleeping by the door or on the couch until his foster gets home. He gets excited to go to sleep in his kennel at night. Alfie doesn't know he's 50lbs, as that doesn't stop him from wanting to be held or cradled like a baby. His foster mom says he is the sweetest boy whose big brown eyes tell you that he just wants to be included in the family, knowing he'll never be left on his own again. To see more pictures and videos of Alfie, copy and paste this link. You must apply directly for Alfie by clicking the “Apply for Adoption” button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-230 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday). We only adopt in the USA. We are open to adopting in other states, except in Massachusetts. There are quarantine laws for MA and until these laws change, we are not able to adopt into MA.
