Hi my name is Maverick! I am the most fun loving dog ever! I am happy to do anything with you! I LOVE to play - I mean, you would love it too at almost 2 years old. I am 56 pounds, so I'll need a big spot on the couch (wink wink) when it's time to relax. ASCZ thinks I am a bit of Shepherd, a touch of Rottweiler maybe too and we see a little Kelpie in there. I am good with all humans including kids. ASCZ thinks school age kids 8+ would be better for me so I don't knock them over accidentally when I get excited. I fit right in with any pack - the more the merrier is my motto. I haven't met any cats in my journey yet, so the jury is still out! I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors and if you have a fenced in yard and a doggie sibling to play with that would be great but not required. I'm going to need a little direction and support with leash walking and basic manners, but I learn very quickly and am eager to please. Matilda and her sister Sia were living at a recycling center in Puerto Rico.  One of the workers kicked Matilda in the face.  She was found bleeding.  Matilda was rushed to the vet and received stitches.  She is on the mend and will not suffer any long term effects.  These babies are now in foster and will fly to NJ on 6/2 to find their fur-ever homes.  Despite the cruelty these girls have witnessed, they are sweet, loving puppies.  They like other dogs, cats and children.  Matilda and her sister weigh around 15 pounds and are 3 months old.  They should be medium size when fully grown.  To meet Matilda, please fill out an adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/91758283848171 What is a Sato? Satos (pronounced with a short A) are a type of dog rather then a breed. The name is Puerto Rican slang for "street dog," but they are also known as Puerto Rican Found Dogs in the U.S. They are the homeless dogs, or urban free-ranging dogs, that live in Puerto Rican cities. Satos are small to medium dogs, usually not more than 35-40lbs. They have large ears that flop, long snouts and legs that seem just a tiny bit too short for their bodies. He's a very anxious dog and has to be the only dog pet though he can work with cats well as he was ok with my cat. Walking him is not a big problem but he is very scared and sensitive to noise and he can get startled easily. He is a really anxious dog so I REALLY need someone who is loving and patient with dogs to take care of him. He loves park walks though so if you live next to a big park walking him won't be difficult. He also needs to be put on a diet as he's a little fatty. He is a purebred dog so there will be a rehoming fee that can be negotiated. Serious adopters only please make sure you are 100% interested. Fee covers vaccines.
