Story
Bucky is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd mix. He is a little joyous ball of energy weighing around 30lbs. He goes very few places without a ball in his mouth, is incredibly athletic, and loves attention from everyone he meets. He is cat neutral, gets along great with all dogs (though dogs that want to reciprocate play will be necessary), crates wonderfully, and is potty trained with a consistent routine! Bucky came from a hoarding case in KY where someone passing themselves off as a rescue had dogs chained outside in deplorable conditions with no shelter, and eventually started dumping dogs to cover their tracks. A long time rescuer saved 60 dogs from the situation, and 2 of them made their way to us up north to search for their forever families with us! Bucky is searching for a home with children over the age of 10 and a fully fenced yard due to his energy level. He does well with dogs of all sizes, but does want to play with them all, so dogs under 20lbs and of toy stature, older dogs, or very dog-shy dogs would not be a good fit. Bucky is accepting applications and is currently available for meet and greets with approved adopters! If you’re interested in adopting him or getting pre-approved for our other dogs, please fill out the adoption application at www.RosebudRescue.com/adopt

Story
Reason is an approx. 9 month old female Australian Shepherd weighing 35lbs. She spent the start of her life living in deplorable conditions at a puppy mill before recently coming into rescue. She is so sweet, very interested in making new friends (dog and people!) and is incredibly treat and praise motivated which should make training a breeze! She LOVES toys and almost always has one with her. She has the typical high energy of an Aussie but also loves a good cuddle session! She understands the concept of going potty outside with a consistent schedule and crates well in a quiet area. Reason’s leash training is a work in progress as she is fearful of pressure from the leash, but has already improved immensely. We will send her off with some tips and tricks to work through this and as with all of our dogs, will be here for training advice throughout and after her adoption. NO cats or small dogs due to her herding instincts, however Reason’s ideal adopter would have another playful dog in the house over 20lbs to keep her company. A fully fenced yard is required at this time due to her energy level and leash training. Reason is accepting applications and is currently available for meet and greets with approved adopters! If you’re interested in adopting her or getting pre-approved for our other dogs, please fill out the adoption application at www.RosebudRescue.com/adopt Please note, Reason is only available on a foster-to-adopt basis until spayed.

Story
Introducing Darcey Rose!  She is a six-year-old blue merle mini Aussie who was released from a large breeding kennel.  Since she is very new to rescue, she has lots of new things to learn. Darcey is a bit overweight so we are working on exercise and eating health and she will be back to her petite self soon.  She lives with six over dogs and gets along with all of them.  We are not sure how she is with cats or young children.  Darcey is working on crate training and house training but she is so smart, she should pick these up quickly.    Darcey is not ready for adoption quite yet because but will soon be looking for her forever home.  She would do best with another dog to play with and a fenced-in yard for her to run around.  If you are interested in meeting Darcy, fill out an application today.   NY AG/MKTS RR 363 Darcey Rose is being fostered in BuffaloDarcey Rose's adoption donation is $400

Story
Barnaby was born around March 19, 2022 and will likely fill out about 40 lbs..  A local dog control officer seized Barnaby after the owner overdosed.  Barnaby and a few other dogs were found inside the home in crates that were stacked on top of each other. Many had no food or water.   Barnaby was adopted out by the local dog control officer to someone wishing to help after hearing his story in the local news.   Unfortunately, Barnaby was not doing well with the children in the home aged 2 and 4.  When the adopters contacted the dog control officer to return Barnaby they were told it wasn't the dog control officer's problem anymore.  Joyful Rescues was happy to help and Barnaby has been a pleasure to get to know.   Barnaby rides well in the car and walks ok on a leash.  Barnaby has been doing well with the other dogs here but we would not put him in a home with a highly dominant male.  Barnaby is going to have a beautiful, luxurious, coat with regular grooming but right now it's a bit lackluster.  He is really good about baths and walks well on leash.  He does love toys and especially those with squeekers! Barnaby is a little shy in new situations and he will likely not be the type that you take everywhere with you but he is intensely loyal and loving with his humans.  This is all we know so far and we will be learning as we go. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $450.00. Adoption fees vary based on adoptability. In general, our fees include spay/neuter, all age-appropriatee vaccines, Home Again microchipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. A pet is removed from the list as soon as it is adopted. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
