Story
Callie (fka ASF Campbell) is looking for a new family. On her home ground, Callie warms to strangers quickly and will ask for affection. She is more shy around tall men, but if they come down to her level then she is all kisses. Inside, she doesn't want strange dogs too close at first, but warms up with a little time and will snuggle with them. When off leash outside, she ignores strange dogs but loves to chase and play bitey face with known dogs. She has worked hard on her leash manners. She used to bark and lunge at other dogs while leashed. Now her attention can be held when there's a treat to be had. She pulls on her leash when really excited, then calms down and is easy to walk. Her recall is 75-80%. She does not guard her food or toys. She will do 'sit', 'wait', and 'touch'. Inside she has torn up a few pieces of paper and some dog toys (and has been known to 'steal' an empty dog food bag). She can roam the whole house day and night. She doesn't take food from a kitchen counter but will eat anything on the floor or low surfaces like a coffee table. She is gentle when fed treats. She's not a fan of being brushed but will tolerate Furminator on her for 3-5 minutes at a time. She lets people wash and dry her feet. She has her claws trimmed by a vet after getting a few treats. Callie's past has had a direct impact on her reason for being returned. Callie was originally found in a field where she had dug a den and was raising her 9 puppies. Her pups were about 5 weeks old when they were all captured and brought into rescue. Callie had to do what she had to do in order to survive and keep her puppies alive. She developed a high prey drive that still persists. She will catch and eat birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc. She is absolutely NOT suitable for a home with cats or other small pets. Callie is approximately 3yo and weighs about 60#. She is on Proin for incontinence. (This can be purchased online or through a vet with a prescription.) Based on a few DNA tests done on her puppies, Callie has a lot of GSD and husky in her. She is spayed and UTD on all of her vaccines. She is on HW and flea prevention. The way to Callie's heart is through her stomach. She loves to eat, and loves treats. And she LOVES water, splashing in it, lying down in it, just being in it. Callie would love another confident, sweet and playful dog to play and run with. Although she hasn't been exposed to children, because of her sweet, loving, and playful personality, it's believed she would be wonderful with older children. She would love an active family to take her on hikes and adventures; this is her happy place. She loves car rides and rides wonderfully on short and extended trips. A fenced in yard would be ideal for her, to allow her to carry out her full speed zoomies several times a day when she can't go on hikes. Callie is being fostered in Jackson, OH. To fill out an application, please go to australianshpeherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
She was born in Minot, ND in November of 2020 and purchased by a friend of mine while we were stationed there. She was given to my wife and I when she was 9 weeks old. She took to us quickly and was fairly easy to train. She got along with everyone she met. She will bark to let you know if anyone is near your home so she's excellent for protection. She loves to run freely in open areas and play with other dogs. Ideally I'd like her adopter to be someone with older kids and a space big enough for her to roam.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Wild Bill, the irresistible young Aussie mix that's a bundle of boundless energy and pure affection. This handsome guy is housebroken, does well in crowds and is a social butterfly! His person must have been a female because when he hears a woman's voice, he gets so excited as if he is still looking for them. With an endless zest for life, this pup lives for the thrill of walks and is doing very well with basic commands through the DASH Prison Training Program. Willie, as his handler calls him, has learned sit, wait, stay, leave it, down & free. He is currently working on the heel command, along with his leash walking & knowing the human is supposed to be in control. He tends to pull when he sees women or dogs. He is crate trained and has not barked while in his crate. He loves to play with other dogs but loves humans even more. His handler says "you would have a hard time finding a dog that loves people as much as he does"!!  He seeks attention, cuddles and snuggles, this love bug insists on sleeping with his beloved humans. Wild Bill is eagerly searching for his forever home, a place where his energetic spirit and un-wavering devotion can truly shine. We have found he does NOT like male dogs & has not been cat or kid tested, so proper introductions would be in order, especially with the tiny-tots, given his age & energy level. Don't miss the chance to make this lovable guy a part of your family! Apply today. If you are interested in Wild Bill, the first step in our adoption process is to submit an application on our website at www.dashanimalrescue.org.  Thank you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 8:18 pm
