Story
Red is in a foster home. To meet him, text Rachael at 440-773-0270 Red is a gentle soul looking for a patient and understanding forever home. Red was an amish mill Dad. He may appear timid and shy at first, but beneath his reserved demeanor lies a heart full of love waiting to blossom. Red prefers to take things slow, especially when getting to know new people and environments. Red needs to be adopted with another dog to build confidence. Red also needs a family with a fenced in backyard. Red would thrive in a calm and quiet environment with patient and compassionate owners who can provide him with the time and space he needs to build trust and confidence.. He would benefit from regular walks and gentle socialization to help him come out of his shell and flourish. Overall, Red is a wonderful companion for someone willing to invest time and love into helping him overcome his shyness and realize his full potential as a cherished member of the family. A meet and greet is required with all dogs in the home before he can be adopted.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Ashland, OH Meet Atlas! He is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs between 35-40 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Atlas is nervous around strangers. He is great with kids and dogs! He hasn’t been tested around cats. Atlas bit the owner’s mother and sister when they tried to grab the owner’s kids. The owner is surrendering him because he isn’t receiving the attention and training that he needs. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Atlas, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Atlas. Owner’s Contact Information: Chris Rolfe at (419) 606-8864 or erinnicole446@gmail.com.

Story
In Bidwell, Ohio - Bailey Mae will steal your heart! Bailey is a petite, 40ish lb Aussie cattle dog mix and is about 15 months old. Bailey came from a local shelter where we were told she was picked up as a stray by a kind elderly couple. Bailey is fun, sweet, cuddly, and so athletic! She has quickly become best friends with her fur brother Australian shepherd Cattle dog mix. She has been known to herd him a little around the house, but never aggressively and it hasn’t been a problem. She has become fast friends with any medium or large-sized dogs she has met that have visited her foster home. Bailey Mae loves her 2 and 4 year old human siblings and has been WONDERFUL with them (even when the 2 year old is a little too rough with her). She shows no signs of aggression, nipping, or herding. She has also been around many visiting cousins ages 6-10 and been equally gentle with them. She loves all people she meets regardless of gender or size and is very friendly to all. Bailey Mae is crate trained and sleeps happily through the night in her crate without a peep, patiently waiting to be let out in the morning. She doesn’t love being left in the crate when her humans need to leave during the day, but she will go in with a treat. She is almost completely housebroken. She has gotten to the point where if she gets outside regularly in a good routine, she is pretty unlikely to have an accident. She needs a little more time, patience, and consistency to be 100% on this. She is not food aggressive at all, but is definitely food obsessed. If food is left unattended on the counter or table, she will find it! Can you blame her after being a hungry stray? She is an incredible jumper and is SO fast. She adores a game of fetch with a tennis ball and will wow you with her abilities to catch the ball. She is equally happy after a fun game of fetch to curl up on the couch and rest with you. Bailey shows a very high prey drive with small animals. Her current yard is too large to be fenced (farm setting) and she is showing instincts to chase after a neighboring outdoor cat and small dog. She has never injured them, but her foster family feels that she might if given the opportunity. For the safety of Bailey and the small animals, her ideal home would have no cats or small-sized dogs and a secure (preferably privacy) fence. She has also done well with cattle, showing no interest in chasing adults or calves and making no attempts to cross under the electric fence. (An unfenced yard in a rural setting with no small pets or livestock would be considered.) Bailey needs room to run and play safely. She would enjoy a friendly, similarly sized dog to play with or she could be the only dog and get all of the playtime with her humans. Bailey will warm your heart, cuddle you, love your children, and make an excellent family pet if given the chance! Bailey Mae is spayed, UTD on her vaccines, microchipped and on HW and flea prevention. All adoption fees go to help other pups like Bailey Mae. There will be a $20 fee to transfer her microchip. Bailey Mae is being fostered in Bidwell, OH. If Bailey Mae sounds perfect for your family, please fill out the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Meet Luna. She was given up by an Amish Breeder. Luna is a Mini Aussie, 5 years old and 26 lbs. She is fully vetted and ready for a home, a loving real home.  Luna does have a condition called dry eye and will need lifelong daily medicine in her eyes. We though she may have some vision loss due to it being untreated but after a visit with an Ophthalmologist recently we were happy to learn that she does indeed have vision in both eyes but maybe not at 100% at this time.  She will be starting a new medicine with a follow up in December. She is so very sweet and dog friendly. Luna is also fine with cats and people. Maye a bit unsure at first meeting but absolutely no aggression.   She is most likely totally fine with respectful children . Luna is now living in a foster home and doing excellent.  She is house trained, crate trained and is learning how wonderful it is to be a part of a family. She rides great in the car and walks great on a leash. She actually walks right beside me when I drop the leash. I can’t say enough good about her, she is the real deal. We are insisting on a fenced yard and want her to have a canine companion. Her adoption fee is $225. If interested in Luna, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.March 25, 2024, 5:50 pm

Story
I took Lenny in when my son and his work partner couldn't take care of him anymore3 1/2 years ago. He just turned 5 years old today. I am hoping to find a home for Lenny that will love him and be able to get him outside running and playing more than I am able too. He is a very lovable and playful dog. Loves to be petted and played with. I do not have the time with my work commitments and schedule to give him the attention he needs.
