Story
Dakota is a high energy fun loving dog. He loves long walks and playing all the time. My husband and I had a mutual friend who was trying to rehome him since she was moving. He is a 12 month old Australian shepherd and a great Pyrenees mix. He is great with our 9 month old baby and has a good experience with older children. He does tend to be anxious with new people and a new home but with patience he will warm up to you. He is food motivated when it comes to food training. With his breed he needs a big back yard and needs to be worked since he is a working dog. He is potty trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. Still working on other commands but is trainable.

Or, how about these Australian Shepherds in cities near Greer, South Carolina

These Australian Shepherds are available for adoption close to Greer, South Carolina.

Story
Meet Haley, a loyal, sweet, and smart nine-month-old pup who is looking for her forever home. Haley is a playful girl who needs to be around medium to large dogs, or as an only dog. While she loves to play, she's also calm and loves to snuggle as long as she's had her exercise. Haley has been through level one obedience training and is house trained. She's up-to-date on all her shots, has been on heartworm and flea medication, and is about 45 pounds. She's met and loved younger children but would do best with children 12 and older. Haley has learned commands such as sit, down, heel, off, no, place, stay, drop it, come, and wait at the door. She still needs reinforcement with these commands, so an experienced dog parent would be ideal for her. In addition to being well-behaved indoors, Haley loves to run with her teen human companion and play fetch. She's crate, house-trained, and can come in and out of a dog door. It breaks my heart to give her up, but I know she'll thrive in the right

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 12/15/2023 Reason for being in rescue: Sydney was born into rescue Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Sydney is up to date on vaccines for her age. Due to age, she is not spayed. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract which requires you to spay her at your expense within 12 months. Sydney is a very young puppy that is not house trained or crate trained. She will need patience and proper training to accomplish both. Sydney is an Australian Shepherd / Standard Poodle mix. She is not hypoallergenic and will shed. Weight: 7 lbs and growing, Sydney should reach about 45 lbs full grown. Height: 4 ins and growing, Sydney should reach about 20 ins full grown. Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? Yes, Sydney requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Sydney requires a home with another active dog for socialization and play. A person scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and can provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night is a must. She is a baby and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training. Sydney has never lived with cats. Doodle puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Doodle puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Doodle puppies are very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a doodle puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well, it is important to note that poodles can have a high prey drive. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! This pup has not had contact with cats that we know of and will not have contact while with their current foster. What is my personality like? Sydney is calm and quiet for a puppy. She will settle in nicely in her own home with a canine friend. Sydney does have her rambunctious moments but overall is a dream of a puppy. Sydney loves to sprawl out in the sunshine in her bedroom(yes, she has her own bedroom that she shares with her brother and mom)  Sydney is a very young puppy that is not house trained or crate trained. She will need patience and proper training to accomplish both.  PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Sydney's birthday is 12/15/2023 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. April 24, 2024, 10:44 am

He's more independent in a not aloof way but in a respectful way.  Two works come to mind for Lumpkin - laid back and easy going.  While we prefer to place puppies in homes with mentor dogs, Lumpkin is one that is confident enough that he could be an only dog if you have plans for socialization and romping with dogs his size a minimum of twice per week.   Lumpkin's mom Daisey is wonderfully gentle and sweet. DAKOTA IS DEAF.  This has been established first with observation by her breeder and then by our own observation.  There is no real deafness test in vet medicine other than observation.  We're unsure if her vision is perfect.  She does seem to see just fine right now but as a blue eyed merle her vision could be different from normal dogs.   Weight: 6 lbs and growing - Dakota is a miniature australian shepherd. Dakota's home will understand that deaf does not mean damaged and be willing to work with her.  There are many resources available to help with training a deaf dog.   What is my personality like? Dakota is a typical puppy - wide open for a while and then "crash" she is down for a nap.  If we did not tell you she was deaf, you would have no idea.  She is in all ways a typical, happy go lucky, ready for action, confident puppy.  Dakota may be deaf but her bark works just fine. She'll let you know when she wants to get picked up, get put down, or find you.  She is quite a vocal pup. Dakota has the softest puppy fur we've ever felt and her coat feels like silk against your skin.  She feels like an Angora rabbit!   How do I act when I first meet new people?  Puppies love everyone. No but Sunny boy has no concept of leash walking yet.   What kind of home would be best for me? Sunny Boy is a young dog with little life experience. He requires an experienced, patient owner with another dog. Consistency and patience are key with this boy. Sunny Boy has never lived with children or cats. What he knows is dogs, and dogs are his comfort. Every experience with Sunny Boy is going to be new; he has a lot to learn but is young and resilient.  Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. He is cautious around both other dogs and people although he does love brown eyes and the puppy he came in with.  Sunny Boy needs a patient home that will gently guide him into being a pet.  He needs to learn everything.  Leash walking, car riding, and going outside his personal area. Sunny boy knows nothing of this big world and he is not sure he wants to learn it.  He will - with your guidance and patience.   PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Timid and shy Other tips and tidbits: Sunny Boy's birthdate is 10/7/2023 House trained?
