Reese is the prettiest girl around! She is all the good things: great on leash, in car and kennel. She is good with people of all ages, and dogs as well. We suspect she would do great with cats. She really is the sweetest! Aussie's are active and require daily activity, exercise and enrichment. If you can offer that to Reese, we'd love to chat with you! ##1987716##

Dove Needs A Furever Home Since arriving at her foster home, Dove's been amazing. She's quite docile for a 10 month old pup. After living only outdoors, Dove & her sister have now decided they love to play with toys & sleep on soft beds. They're very grateful & gentle natured. Dove loves other dogs & she ADORES people. She's very personable & wants to be near her people.❤️ She's currently working on house training & leash training & she's doing great! Dove weighs 45 lbs & will likely be near 50-55 lbs when full grown. She's been fully vaccinated & heartworm tested negative. She's now on monthly heartworm prevention & flea prevention. She's scheduled to be spayed next week. Her breed mix possibly includes Australian shepherd, Australian cattle dog, & Anatolian shepherd, Great Pyrenees, & border collie. If you'd like to inquire about this adorable pup, please reach out! . Furever Home Pet Rescue bemyforeverhome.org 615-540-8448

Story
Can I introduce you to Duke? He has been in boarding for the past 4 years with ASF. I don't know the whole story, but the gist of it is he was rescued out of Houston, escaped transport somehow in Dallas, and ran around the Love Field Airport runway for 2 weeks until caught. He has been boarding with a trainer named Dawn here in the North Dallas area where he has transformed from a scared semi feral/feral canine to a sweet pup who wants nothing more than to bond with his person. He came to stay with me over the weekend after my son and I went to visit him at Dawn's. We wanted to see if he could be adopted out as he has had very little interest in being fostered nor adopted. Let me tell you, he is a total knucklehead. He is silly and ripe to learn all he needs to learn to become a beloved family member. He relaxed and was letting us pet him and playing tag with us within 24 hours. He found a dog bed in my house and made it his base. Duke needs someone who has patience and would like to mold him into a pet. Somewhere in his past, Duke has learned leashes are awful. He is petrified of leashes, and isn't interested in going for walks. Duke is looking for a home with a yard with a 6 foot fence minimum he loves to do zoomies and play tag with whomever with play. Duke hasn't spent much time in a house so he is not house broken yet, but Dawn is hoping to start that ASAP. He likes almost all dogs. He is learning about cats. A home with a dog savy cat would be best as if the cat runs, Duke thinks chasing is so fun! Are you willing to get this boy out of boarding and into a home where he can flourish? I am happy to answer any questions! Here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application We have waived the adoption fee and just charging the $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family.

She is super-sweet cuddly lovergirl with a 7 energy level for play and a nice, even 5 for chilling out with her peeps! Mia is extremely smart and eager to please. She really learns commands and tricks quickly and looks forward to a tasty treat or just good praise as reward. Mia would do best as an only-dog for now. She needs to decompress in her new home and deserves all the devoted-dog attention. When with dogs outside the home she’s a typical sassy young mini female but she really loves to play. She will definitely “play up” so larger, young fun dogs are ideal playmates. Mia needs very experienced breed owners in a medium energy home. She’s a true Aussie in her desire to become bonded with owners quickly but she needs helping learning to balance her preferred role as pet and unnecessary role as guardian of people. Mia is a great size Aussie; she’s either the smallest standard or a large mini at 36 lbs. She could use more walks and exercise and if someone will take her then she will LOVE to go on outdoor adventures. Mia is curious about other dogs on leash walks but is easily corrected with a command or distraction. She’s not aggressive and she’s not a “bark for nothing” type, either! So she’s a great little dog who doesn’t have to make her case known to anyone who will listen Mia LOVES toys, playing ball and chewing on proper chewies; her biggest interest is currently unstuffable toys that make a crackling sound. She is just as easily entertained by a plastic bottle stuck in a crew-sock. Mia’s focus for now is in being the center of attention from humans. She was someone’s only beloved dog and would be find being one again. Her loving owner had to move to a different state and high-rise apt he knew wouldn’t be fun for his little girl. If you’re looking for a spunky sidekick we are looking for a person or couple with herding-breed experience, compassion, patience and time to invest. Jackson has an otherwise-typical Australian Shepherd energy level of 7 to 8 until he settles down for naps and bedtime. He is a happy and smart boy! Jackson loves to be outside, to play fetch, play with any kind of toy, and always has a bone to chew on. He also loves to go on walks, play in water, and have play dates with our neighbor dog. When walking Jack around the neighborhood we are constantly told just how handsome he is. He has not been crated with us, but learned to use a doggy door in 1 day and is potty trained. We are able to leave him in the house when we go to work. Jack does still get excited when his humans get home and still tends to jump up - this will be easily remedied with consistency and training. Recently we have seen some anxiety when we leave the house, and he will bark as we leave and try to go out the door with us but he doesn’t continue to bark long once he knows we are gone. Jack is deaf but he’s not from a double-merle litter; his littermates were all normal only Jackson is deaf. He does have some typical herding/nudging tendencies as expected but is very eager to please and responds well to training. We think a great home for him would be one with outdoor space and plenty of exercise time. Also someone who has experience with deaf dogs or someone that has time to learn and train him would be amazing. Jackson has done well with our children, one of whom is a 4 year old girl that likes to give lots of hugs and no personal space We do not have other dogs but he does well when he encounters them, I think he really craves playmates. We do not have super long work hours, but are gone everyday during the week. Having other dogs home with him while owners are at work would be ideal. Sweet Jack was dumped with his sisters on a farm nearby and we wanted to take him in. After about a month with us we realized he is completely deaf, and although we have tried some professional training we think that someone who has more time to dedicate to this special kind of training would be best for him. From Jack’s Foster Mom: “Jackson loves a bed he can jump up and off fast..lol He adores men; I had to get my car rim replaced at discount tire and he just loved the attention from them. He was like 'what's this? whats that?' His head was swirling he was beaming from attention of all the men! He wanted my bacon and egg taco... he loves his food, anyone's food, so he will be good to train with treat motivation He is good with kids, but I recommend older ones, cats and other dogs.. Jack LOVES toys; as soon as I got him home he pulled out all the dog toys from our toy box! His tail is gorgeous, it's so fluffy and pretty! He is ready for the right Forever Home, there's no need to keep him in my home as a foster because he's quick to learn and should get to begin again in his forever-environment. He has only had one accident inside, he's always waited to go outside - even throughout the night in a new place he's been perfectly potty-trained. The main thing to know is he won’t like the crate at first, it takes some tricks to get him in but after a few days we got it down. His original owners didn’t crate him but we hope to find a home where someone is home more than gone with time to train him more. He just loves being on the bed, lol, like he is the King and the bed is his Kingdom! He loves playing fetch and tug of war. Jack just loves to play, cuddle, be silly and is a loving good boy!
