Story
Treasuring her second chance at life, 2-year-old Trixie thrives on being part of her foster home’s “doggy pack.” The sweet and social 20-pound white beauty not only dances and prances about the house but her whole body shakes when she’s especially excited. Lapping up her fosters’ attention like a thirsty doggy sponge, she loves being petted and pampered by them, then joining them in the family room. Happiest when playing heartily with her doggy foster friends as well as with other, visiting dogs, Trixie enjoys endlessly running around the yard with them, gnawing bones, and chewing contentedly on her hardy fish toys while reclining on the couch. Fond of yogurt, eagerly licking the yogurt cup every morning, she’s very enthusiastic about treats and has liked every one that she’s tried. Motivated by food, toys and love, she comes when called, sleeps soundly in her kennel and knows how to use a doggy door. At work on her leash skills, Trixie would love a home with a fenced yard, while it’s not a requirement, either with other playful pups or ones to see on playdates, and patient adopters who will complete her training, including her commands, and keep her both active and adored fur-ever.  See more photos of Trixie here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email  dogs@arrcolorado.org  for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
