Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sacramento- Meet Tootsie Roll, an adorable English Bulldog with a heart as sweet as her name. Tootsie Roll is a special pup, as she has Spina Bifida, a condition that affects her bladder and bowel control. Despite this, Tootsie Roll walks just fine, radiating joy with every step. To manage her incontinence, Tootsie Roll wears a diaper, a routine that, for those unfamiliar, is not as daunting as it may seem. It requires less than half an hour of care each day, and the more time without a diaper, the better off she is. This lovable Bulldog is, otherwise, a "normal" English Bulldog, complete with the charming quirks that make the breed so beloved. Tootsie Roll isn't a fan of hot weather, but the joys of diapers mean that outings are more flexible, especially during hot or rainy days. Despite facing the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia due to her condition, Tootsie Roll's resilience shone through, and she is now ready to bring joy to a loving home. This happy and social girl adores attention, playtime, and, yes, she snores loud! Tootsie Roll would thrive in a home with another dog companion, relishing in playful interactions. However, humans willing to engage in tug-of-war and toss games will also find her to be the perfect playmate. Caring for a dog with Spina Bifida involves managing skin care and bowel and bladder functions, but this can be navigated through various approaches. Tootsie Roll's foster parent has found success by using a pen at night and during work hours to give her diaper-free time. For those interested in welcoming Tootsie Roll into their lives, the adoption process is conveniently available online at http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/. The adoption fee of $500 covers her spaying, microchipping, and up-to-date vaccines. This fee is waived for a home with a human also dealing with Spina Bifida, recognizing the unique connection that can be formed. To gain insights into caring for a dog with Spina Bifida, there's a helpful Facebook group dedicated to English Bulldogs with the condition. Additionally, for information on bowel management, the website https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/bowel-management-incontinent-pets/ can be a valuable resource. Tootsie Roll is more than a pet; she's a testament to resilience and the capacity for love. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this special Bulldog, she is eagerly waiting for her perfect forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2024, 4:36 pm

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Gigi! I need to be the ONLY DOG in your home. If that sounds good to you, please read on! I’d love to meet you! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? A very cute girl! HOW OLD ARE YOU? About 3 years old WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am the cutest little bulldog mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? 26 pounds of cuteness. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am petite and stocky with short legs, gray and white fur, and a little crooked nubby tail. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like to eat everything! I eat my kibble and I love treats. I love fruits and vegetables too! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? If I were a sauce, I would be Sriracha! I am spicy and oh so sweet! I can be pushy, but I am learning commands like sit, stay, leave it, and also where my “spot” is. I am very trainable! I have no knowledge of personal space. I am very happy and social. I love people and absolutely love to cuddle! I am playful but also lazy and love to lay on your lap and nap while you are watching TV. Sometimes at night I do zoomies and will try to pounce on you, almost like I am a cat! When this happens, a toy will distract me and keep me busy. Want to play tug?? DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is spent with you! I wake up, do a big stretch and immediately want to have breakfast. I run right into the kitchen even before I have gone potty. I then go potty and have a short walk outside. I like to go on walks but not too far since my legs are so short. I love going for car rides more than walks so a car ride somewhere would make me really happy. Then home to relax and take a nap. I love to lay on you or sit on your lap while you are on the couch. I then would love to play with some toys, maybe tug on a rope. After play time, I am usually asleep and snoring by 8pm. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love Kong toys filled with treats or Benebone or Nylabone. I love playing tug with rope toys. Playing tug is my absolute favorite game. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know how to sit, leave it, and go to my “spot.” I am still working on some other training commands. WHAT SCARES YOU? Sometimes loud noises if I hear them when I am out walking. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I have been around older children and I love them very much. No children under 13 please, though. Little kids just don’t understand that I’m an excited little bulldozer sometimes! DO YOU LIKE CATS? No thanks, I’ll pass. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I need to be an only dog. I am queen of my castle! All the love is mine! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Right next to you! And also in the car would be great! I love car rides. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? My health is great! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and her teen daughter. I think I like my foster mom the best because she feeds me and I am a total foodie! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I stay in my crate when I am home alone. Nobody wants me chewing a shoe, ok? WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in a soft cozy bed inside of my crate. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do like walking on a leash but I don’t like walking very far. My legs are very short! DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I am pretty sure foster mom is grateful that I can protect her from the scary vacuum, so I do my best to put on my “tough girl” stance and tell it to back off. I also love to get into the bathroom trash, dumpster dive! Not sure if it is a bad habit since I can’t help it, but I snore really loud! It’s actually cute if you ask me. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) I am housetrained. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I tolerate it for my bath and will go outside to potty in the rain but it is not my favorite. I am heavy and have very short legs so I probably wouldn’t be able to swim. No pools please! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They give me so much love and attention. I am not sure if I ever had that much love before. They make me a part of everything, and I feel so special. And of course, they give me treats and toys to play with!! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was found as a stray and ended up in the shelter. No one came for me. That’s all in the past now and I am ready to find my forever home. Are you ready to bring me home and love me forever? ***GIGI’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300*** If you are interested in Gigi please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For more information on where we adopt to and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=nThank you so much in advance for understanding!!!

I have discovered that I enjoy fruit as well like bananas, blueberries and apples. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a pretty chill little man that loves his chew toys. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day starts with grabbing my favorite toy and heading outside to do a little sniffing around. I sleep in my crate. It is my safe, cozy space and I can relax and just be chill in there. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I like walking on my leash. I like to carry my pink ball with me as I walk on my leash. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I do like to steal brooms and chew them up, so brooms should be out of my sight. I also like to bark when playing with my pink toy outside. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? Heck yeah! I am all good with the potty stuff… no worries there! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I run to the bathroom for bath/shower time! Swimming? I am not built for water sports, so let’s make it a team effort to keep me safe from pools and other large bodies of water, okay? WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I have learned that people aren’t so bad. I get lots of cuddles and treats! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I had a not so good life before coming to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue. I was brought in after being shot in the head and arm. (Yikes, right? Scary!) But I am so lucky that NorCal Bully Breed Rescue took me in and nursed me back to health. I have put all that behind me now and I am doing great! I am looking for my forever home that can give me lots of love! Maybe you are looking for a chill guy who just wants to be loved and have a few toys to play with? I promise to love you for the rest of my life and give you lots of cuddles and kisses! ***KOA’s ADOPTION FEE IS $100** If you are interested in Koa please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For more information on where we adopt to and what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance for understanding!!

Story
Hi I’m Pepper, I’m a very sweet, silly, and curious girl looking for my forever home. My favorite things are belly rubs, face massages, car rides(with my head out the window) and cuddling up to sleep on your lap. I’m potty trained and know the basic sit, wait (stay), lay down, leave/drop it and my foster dad says my recall is great! He always tells me that I’m a smart girl who learns fast. I’m pretty good on a leash and my foster dad has been helping me get even better! I like playing fetch, chewing on bones, and playing chase with my foster brother, Juice. I’m good with cats and love to lick their ears (when they let me). Although I haven’t met any kids I’m pretty sure I’d be good with them too. I’m a little uneasy around other dogs, especially when I’m in their space or they’re in mine. My foster dad has been working with me on that and I’ve definitely had improvement, but need a bit more work. A slow introduction in neutral space will probably be necessary if I were to meet other pups. That being said, once I warm up I love playing chase, cuddling, and wrestling with other dogs. I play a bit rough, my foster brother loves it, but I understand other dogs may not enjoy it so much. When I’m told to knock it off I do. What I’m looking for is a home that has time to continue my training and will shower me in the love and affection that I deserve!

******THIS IS A COURTACY POST ******* DOG IS NOT AT OUR FACILITIES********CONTACT OWNER MICHELLE BELL AT (707) 685-6810   She is DEAF and they have found her to be very responsive to a vibration collar. She is licensed and microchipped. The owners feel she would be a great 'only dog' in a home where someone with patience can love her and work with her. She is just too much dog/muscle for for this older couple to manage. She loves to snuggle and give kisses and seems to love any person she meets. She is a beautiful dog that is potty trained and crare trained, she has all her vet records! Owners are unsure if she is aggressive with their other dogs or if she is just very playful and too big to play with their little dogs. However she would would thrive in a family environment where she can receive plenty of love, attention, and playtime. A spacious yard where she can run around and explore would be ideal for this energetic pup! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sacramento- *special needs* Zooey is a floppy eared Frenchie who came from a backyard breeder. When she became unable to walk because of IVDD, they did nothing. This has left her with two useless back legs and is incontinent. She is super cute with her floppy ears (she looks like a mini English because of them). She gets around on her own with her front legs and will use her back legs to stand up when outside. She will need to wear diapers forever, but it is way easier than you would think. She came to us with poor skin, open wounds, and missing a lot of hair, but now she is looking great and ready for a home. She was super extra with other dogs when she first came and now lives with a gang of them but she is possessive of her crate and her food. She is good with kids (no idea about cats but she is slower than any so it wouldn't matter anyway).   She will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and ready for a life of love.   You can find out more about our available dogs and appt online at: http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/   Adoption fee: $500 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2024, 4:36 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*SPECIAL NEEDS* Meet Croquette, affectionately known as K, a French Bulldog puppy who is not only adorable but truly special in every way. Despite facing some significant challenges, K embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless joy. This delightful pup shares all the typical traits of a French Bulldog puppy – she loves to play, indulge in chewy hooves, enjoy her meals, and bask in the warmth of snuggles. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she'll dance with excitement, hoping you'll scoop her up for some extra love. K, however, is a very special girl, born with severe defects, including Spina Bifida with an open defect and leg differences, as well as hydrocephalus (or missing parts of her brain). These conditions mean that her back legs didn't form correctly, and she'll require diapers throughout her life. Her balance is a work in progress, and she may experiences occasional seizures (no meds required as none have helped). While K's special care demands around 45 minutes a day, she firmly believes she deserves attention at all times. She is on the lookout for a family that can provide constant companionship. Foster mom works but luckily someone stops in to care for K during the day.  K will eat hard food but doesn't have the drive for water, so she is fed mush (often by the spoon) to make sure she gets hydrated.  Handling her bathroom needs involves gentle expressions, a routine that K takes in stride. This may seem like a lot, but the reward is immeasurable – the sheer happiness and joy that K brings to every moment. In terms of life expectancy, K's story aligns with another dog adopted out six years ago with similar conditions, who is still thriving today. While the duration of any dog's life is uncertain, what truly matters is the love and cherishment they receive during their time. For those willing to embrace the uniqueness of caring for a special needs pup and provide a loving home, the adoption fee is waived for the right match. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bubba Sparx, the one-year-old bundle of joy who is as unique as his name suggests. Bubba is a special French Bulldog and Boston Terrier mix, also known as a Frenchton, and he comes with an extra special trait—he's deaf. But don't let that fool you; this charming pup is ready to steal your heart with his infectious personality. Bubba Sparx sports a mostly white coat that adds to his distinctive appearance. His love for people knows no bounds, making him a social butterfly who adores everyone he meets. Full of energy and enthusiasm, Bubba is a playful companion, always up for a game or two. He is only about a year old, so he is pretty puppy still.  Despite his hearing impairment, he's excelling in learning hand signals, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to communicate. This little guy is making great strides in his training journey. He's acing potty training and has mastered the art of being the perfect houseguest in his crate. Bubba is also in the process of conquering the challenge of using stairs, proving that he's a quick learner with a can-do attitude. Bubba Sparx's heart is set on finding a home where he can share his love for play with another dog companion. His playful spirit and happiness are truly contagious, making him an ideal addition to any dog-loving family. It's disheartening to learn that Bubba Sparx was left at a groomer's office, abandoned by owners who never returned for him. Despite this, he remains a beacon of joy, ready to bring love and laughter to a family who will appreciate his perfection. If you're seeking a loving and resilient furry friend, Bubba Sparx is the ideal match. Give this exceptional pup the chance to be cherished and adored in a forever home that recognizes his uniqueness and embraces his boundless love. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.  You can find our adoption process and apply online at: http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/ Adoption fee $800 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2024, 4:36 pm
