Story

Bruno is a sweet and gentle 6-8 month old boy. He was abandoned by his mom and left to fend for himself on the streets. Some kind neighbors found him and we were able to bring him into the rescue where he is thriving in his foster home. Bruno is a goofy and a little clumsy. Lol He loves belly rubs, cuddling, and giving kisses. He has been learning to walk on a leash and is such a gentlemen! If we happen upon another person or dog on our walks, he knows to sit or lay down at my feet while we chat with the neighbors. He LOVES other dogs and loves to play. He is more of the submissive and shy type, and is obedient to commands. Bruno is such a wonderful loyal and handsome companion. He is fully potty trained. He’s has a little fear of going outside because he’s afraid he will be left outside again and runs back inside right after potty. He is slowly learning to trust more and has started playing with his foster brother outside. He does well with our cat as well. He is so sweet, obedient, smart, goofy, and playful. Hey all! It’s me, Nala, looking for my forever home! I came into rescue several months ago and I didn’t feel too well back then. I lived my life on the streets scavenging for food. I only weighed 17 lbs then but with the help of SSBR and my foster family, I’ve blossomed to a healthy and muscular 55lb lady! I love to play independently and with my fur siblings. I built my muscles doing zoomies in the yard, but I also love squeaky toys and nylon bones. I love my humans hard but I’m scared of strangers so I need a quiet and patient home who can show me all the love I deserve. Meet Minnie! Minnie arrived at the shelter in rough shape—underweight, heartworm positive, and battling infections. Once thought to be 8 years old and possibly hospice, she’s proven to be a resilient, happy Old English Bulldog who may be younger than first believed! Now thriving in her foster home, “The Minster” is full of energy, loves toys, and enjoys zooming around. She’s still learning manners and, like most bulldogs, has no concept of personal space—so small children or frail individuals may not be ideal. She’s athletic, benefits from regular exercise, and is mostly housebroken but needs a crate or pee pad when left alone. Minnie is great with cats and dogs but can be a bit of a bulldozer, so very small dogs may not be the best fit. She needs a structured home with bulldog-savvy adopters who appreciate her stubborn yet affectionate nature. After a rough start, Minnie is now healthy, happy, and ready for her forever home! This is my sweet Xena. Xena was born 4/20/2022. I’ve had her since late 2022 She is a very kind and obedient dog. I am in the process of moving this month and it would be very difficult for me to take her with me. I also dont have much time to spend with her, I work and have a baby. I feel selfish keeping her when she could be with someone that has time for her. She’s a sensitive dog and loves to be around her family and to be shown affection. She’s good with kids, other dogs, and cats. She also needs someone that has time to take her to the vet and take care of her skin. She has skin allergies and will scratch her back on anything (even the wall) and will peel her skin and coat off, leaving her with bald, irritated spots. She does very well on cytopoint injections. They’re about $100 and will last her about 4 months before she has any itching. She’s been living in a dog house we built for her outside (with ac) since we had baby. I just want someone who has time for her.
