Adopt true love from shelters, rescues, & private owners
We are happy that you have decided to adopt a Ferret. Ferret adoption is a wonderful way to provide a Ferret a second chance and caring environment. Most pets arrive at shelters because the owner had to move, could no longer afford the pet, had a death in the family, or simply gave up the responsibly of being a care taker for a Ferret. Before bringing home a Ferret, make sure you have considered the full impact of your decision. Below is a brief overview of the type of needs a Ferret might require and what you will need to consider for the life time care of a Ferret.
First most, understand that no matter what, even if you buy a Ferret for sale, or adopt, as a new pet owner it is your responsibility to care for the Ferret it’s entire lifespan. Part of that responsibility is taking time to understand the basic needs of a Ferret. At the top of that list should be getting know the diet of a Ferret. Find out how often and what a Ferret needs to eat. Next, what shelter do you need to provide? Get to know what habitat a Ferret is accustom to, what temperature will the Ferret need to maintain, and what range of temperatures are acceptable for a Ferret to survive.
It’s usually a good idea to get to know a little more about Ferret habits, temperament and relationship with humans before adopting a Ferret. For example, can you handle a Ferret. What is an indicator if a Ferret is being aggressive and senses fear? Some pets will maintain much more happiness as long as they live socially, does a Ferret need a companion pet in order to live happily? What exercise does a Ferret need regularly?
Ferret adoption can be an enriching experience, and is a big decision. Whatever pet you adopt will demand certain lifestyle changes, and a financial commitment. Estimating the monthly costs of owning a pet is just as important as making sure you have the time and motivation to feed the Ferret when necessary, and provide a safe environment to live.
So you’re looking to adopt a Ferret? We’re glad you’ve come to the right place to find out about Ferret adoptions. Ferrets are a lot like small dogs or cats, they require several hours of exercise per day, and can be trained with a litter box. Here are the personality descriptions of three ferrets for adoption that were once listed on our website. Meet, Hanna one most the beautiful ferrets we have seen in some time, with a little dark nose, luscious coat and lovely disposition. We are always amazed to see how eager Hanna is for affection and how engaging she is with our staff. Hanna, like a lot of other ferrets for adoption at our rescue, enjoys running through tubes, pouncing on crinkle sacks, and popping in peanuts!
Hi, I am Diddy. A silver and gray ferret for adoption who has all of her shots and is microchipped. I am a little active silver girl who is a little is full of myself. I am a housetrained ferret for adoption, and do well with kids. I am a senior ferret, but still love to play around.
Meet Hardy, who is a ferret for adoption at 2 year old. Hardy’s color is champagne. He was surrendered along with two other ferrets, but he is not bonded with them and can be adopted separately. Hardy is a very sweet, fun loving ferret. He does get a bit rowdy when he plays but does not bite. He gets along well with other ferrets. Hardy has been seen by our vet for a health check and is up to date on his vaccinations. He is also neutered.
