Prairie Pet Coalition Oklahoma is dedicated to keeping companion animals off the streets and out of the shelters. We advocate for pets in Oklahoma and we are committed to empowering Oklahoma pet owners with the tools and information to be successful.
PPCOK rescues pets from municipal shelters that are in danger of being euthanized. We prioritize cats in need of socialization and bully breed dogs, but we do not limit the breeds we rescue. Our pets live in foster homes with wonderful volunteers who work on socializing, training and preparing their foster cat or dog for their forever home.
As our organization grows, we hope to build a program to provide assistance to low income pet owners in Oklahoma.

We intake dogs and cats from any county in Oklahoma. But we do not intake outside of the state.
We adopt to anyone who meets our requirements in the United States.
Additional adoption info
We have three main requirements for our adoptors:
- If you rent your home, we will need to confirm that pets are allowed by your landlord or property manager.
-Your other pets must be spayed or neutered. There are exceptions to this rule, for example, age of pet or health issues. If your pet isn't spayed or neutered, we would love to help you find a place to get them fixed.
-Your pet must be up to date on their rabies shot, FVRCP (for cats) and DAPPV (for dogs). If your pet needs these vaccinations and you need low-cost options, email or call us & we will point you in the right direction.
If you apply for one of our pets and still need to get your vaccines up to date or need to get your pet spayed or neutered, we will mark it as pending until the vaccinations and spay/neutered are completed.
