About A Passion For Paws Rescue

For as long as I can remember I have felt an extreme passion for all animals and for dogs, cats and horses in particularI When I was a little girl living in town I used to bring home any animal I thought needed "saving" including baby mice ! For many years I have helped transport dogs for other rescues, and fostered dogs and cats.A few years ago I decided to be more "official" .I received a generous donation from an individual who knew of my passion, desire and efforts to work tirelessly for the welfare of animals in need.Because of this donation I have been able to pursue my passion in a much more intense fashion.I am a member of the Lexington (Ne) community foundation, and am a state (Ne)licensed rescue.I do not have a facility,I use foster homes and a local state licensed boarding kennel when I do not have enough foster homes.I have gone to schools and spoken to groups in an attempt to help educate kids and the public in general. My local TV station has done a feature on the rescue as well as my local newspapers. .My rescue relies on donations and adoption fees to pay for the vet ,food, and boarding expenses. If there is not enough money from donations I provide funds needed out of my own pocket.I have a few volunteers .I do all my vet transports, posting , home visits etc. I am determined even at this stage in my life( I am 70) to make a significant impact on the lives of homeless, unwanted and abused furry friends.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
