Additional adoption info

Here is how our 3-step adoption process works:

We ask you to fill out an application which is step one in our 3-step adoption program, called "Trial Week". (Step one)

Once we have received and reviewed your application we will arrange a "Meet & Greet" with you and the pet. (Step two)

If this goes well with everybody involved, you get to take the pet home for a week (or longer if needed) and get to know each other better.

After this trial period, you can make the decision if you want to make the pet a part of your family. (Step 3)

Our adoption fee is $150 and includes, spay/neuter and all age appropriate tests, vaccinations and microchipping.

The Underdogs Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and/or abused animals. The Underdogs Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes de-worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, microchipping prior to their adoption.

This questionnaire is designed to help The Underdogs Rescue and yourself determine if a specific dog is the right one for you and your household. All adopting parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. The Underdogs Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions.

About The Underdogs Rescue Inc.

The Underdogs are a group of individuals who volunteer their time and money to benefit and raise awareness for Oklahoma's unwanted animals.

As our name suggests, we take in and care for the underdogs of our society. The animals that nobody else wants and that would have a slim to zero chance of being adopted at a shelter and likely to be euthanized.
Some of our infamous underdogs are Sammy, the Pit Bull with a rap sheet, Beauty, the Mastiff mix an "ugly swan" with an unsightly skin condition, and Rufus, the paralyzed Dachshund on wheels.

We rely solely on private donations and 100% of which go directly towards the support of our fosterlings.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
