Rescue FAQs

Sacred Paws Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue that finds forever homes for our dogs in the DFW area, focusing on counties north of Dallas lacking resources to help needy dogs.

We aim to bring spay/neuter awareness to Grayson County and are involved in youth outreach in the town of Van Alstyne, TX. The youth events help socialize our dogs and promote compassion in youth, as well as responsible dog care. We assist owners with training tips so that they might keep their dog instead of surrendering.

Additional adoption info

If you're interested in adopting a dog from SPDR, please send your contact information to: SacredPawsDogs@gmail.com. We are all volunteers so please be patient, we will respond within 24 hours.

We do not do same-day adoptions and a home visit is required. Adoption contribution is $150 - $200. All monetary gifts are used to care for dogs in our program.

SPDR's dogs are spayed or neutered, current on routine vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly preventive.

Depending on the amount of time our adoptable dogs have been in a foster home, we strive to teach basic obedience, house manners, and socialization with dogs and people.

Sacred Paws is dedicated to the dogs in our program for life. We always take our dogs back if the adoption is not a good fit -- and we are committed to helping each dog make a transition from our foster home(s) into forever home(s) through training and behavior modification.
