Additional adoption info

Initial application, and later an adoption fee on the day the cat is transferred to its new home.

All adopters must be able to produce a veterinarian name as a reference.

If you have not had a pet before, please produce a rescue name that can recommend you, or professional reference.

The people you live with must agree they want the cat.
If renting, the landlord needs to know a new cat is coming into the building. The landlord or management company phone number and contact name is asked for. An exception would be if you have lived somewhere a long time with a cat, and it is obviously allowed.

The cat is brought to your home by me. Covid restrictions mean that I will bring the cat to your front door and hand you the cat in a carrier.

All adopters must agree to return the cat to me if they feel they wish to return the animal. There is a 100 percent return policy.

About Cypress HIlls North TNR

I am a TNR (ASPCA Certified) rescuer and I work to place adoptable cats and kittens that are not candidates for return to their neighborhood. I trap primarily in the Cypress Hills section of East New York, Brooklyn.
All my cats have been rescued by me personally. I foster my own rescue cats after they have been vetted. I have small numbers of cats for adoption, because I take on TNR and stray cat rescue missions when I can competently assume the responsibility of a new rescue cat. NOTE: KITTEN SEASON IS HERE.
Please understand that I am not funded and depend entirely on client reimbursement to pay my veterinary spay neuter clinics. A spay neuter ranges from $70-90 with flea treatment which I must do during spring, summer and fall. If you are calling for TNR, please do not force me to explain all of this and be prepared to pay for the clinic services. Thank you,

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Little Neck, NY.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
