My Story

George is a very handsome fella. He has a beautiful coat and expressive eyes that melt your heart. We don't know for sure what his mix is but our best guess is predominantly lab mixed with some type of hound. He often puts his nose to the ground when walking. George is a bit of special needs as he has a calcified disc in his back. This means no stairs, no jumping on furniture and shouldn’t be picked up. He would need carpeting or textured floors to help with his grip and to prevent slips. He's on daily supplements and is moving around quite well. He's a happy boy who deserves a chance at having a family and a loving home to call his own. His estimated year of birth is 2008 and his weight is around 70 lbs. Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent.

Adoption Process

Most of the dogs that come to our Sanctuary have had a scary background of being left to die in animal shelters across the country. Understandably, we are very careful in our approving our adoptions as we are dedicated to ensuring that this dogs truly go to a "forever" home. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.
