Story
All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate.  Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Potential adopters for our Persian cats need to have prior Persian cat experience as they need to be well cared for.  Grooming, dental, and veterinarian exams are done once a year, and a good quality brand of cat food such as Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, or Purina Pro plan is the upper tier level with a black label. We are a rescue and get what we get in terms of cats in need of a home. In no way do we work with breeders or buy the cats from the Friday markets so we can put them up for adoption as a rescue. https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/11596/generic Native Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and by an approved application.   NVEcats aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about these magnificent and intelligent cats. Cats and kittens are not adopted out on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. We choose to match our applicants and cats based on what we deem as best suited for that particular cat or kitten. ##2506743##

Story
Douglas is a peace-keeper who is Carol’s best friend from Where the Wild Things Are.  Affectionately called Dougie, he is a foster favorite.  Chunky solid male who chatters to you and his litter mates the whole day.  Dougie loves to anticipate where you are going to sit and jump into that space so you will never be alone.  Once you are settled, he will snuggle in your lap  Dougie is the nice guy character, and truly is one of the nicest kittens next to Ira. Fun, playful, loving.  When he finally settles down for a nap, he is sure to be close to you or on your lap.   You can see more pictures and videos of our fosters on our facebook page:  Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV, before they are adopted. They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet. ##2446077##

Story
Claire embodies the Where the Wild Things Are movie’sClarie character, pretending to be  the aloof big sister.  Claire’s bigger brothers, Douglas and Ira tried to keep her in her place.  While she can be rough and tumble with the best of them, they outweigh her by more than a pound giving her little chance of getting the upper hand.  Still he takes all this in stride, because she knows she is loved and cherished. As a general rule, we recommend that young kittens only go in pairs or to households that already have another pet. Young kittens on their own, no matter how much attention they get from humans, usually get bored and tend to be more destructive.  They need another animal to help socialize them (to learn how to appropriately wrestle, boundaries, etc).  Most times having another cat is the best, though some may be okay with a gentle dog.
