Christy A17985251 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old -This pretty lady came to us terrified and confused-She spent some time as an office dog and is blossoming into a confident, happy girl-She’s slow to warm up to new people but once she knows you your lap will never be empty!-She loves pets and cuddles-She loves snacks and takes them nicely-Semi interested in toys-Walks nicely on a leash but it’s a slow go as she loves to sniff and explore along the way-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper introsUnknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Panda is a beauty! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 43 pounds. Are you ready to add a little bouncy joy to your life? Meet Panda, one of the happiest, sweetest girls, with a nonstop waggy tail that pounds on everything she is near, it is too funny! Panda is a pro at sitting pretty and taking treats gently, but she's also got a playful, spunky side that will keep you smiling. She loves to be close and will wiggle her way into your lap for cuddles, but you have to be careful because she will sneak in as many kisses as she can, and trust us, she is quick! With her outgoing and affectionate nature, Panda is the perfect companion for an active home with a yard to explore and play in. She's also a well-mannered girl who just needs a basic obedience refresher, especially when it comes to walking on a leash. So, if you're looking for a loyal and loving friend to add some pep in your step, Panda would love it if you came to meet her, she can’t wait for a family to love. She will need home where any children are at least 8 years old. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Panda would love to meet them. She has a loose approach with other dogs and does cute play bows. She also likes to “check in” with you for guidance and reassurance. If you are interested in Panda and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Astro is a good dog. I dont think he's ever actually bitten anyone, though he likes to knaw on your hand a bit of you play with his face, in the same way that dogs will knaw on eachother. He is the last of a litter that we couldn't find a home for. He's just kind of floating around I suppose, because he was born, and guilt has kept up from taking him to a pound. I found this website and maybe someone will give him a home and love him. He doesn't even really bark much, not to an extent that would be problematic. He does like to play with other dogs too, and we have 5 children that he plays with well. He is quite socialized and not really a problem at all beyond that we have 2 full grown other dogs as well, and it takes a good amount of thought to care for them all as well as maintaining life each day.
