Story
Hi there, I’m Lukey (like Luke)! I’m an 11-year-old, 14-pound terrier mix (Rat Terrier and Mini Schnauzer, if you please!) with a handsome white and tan coat. Even though I’m a senior gentleman, I’ve still got plenty of pep in my step—I can climb stairs, hop in and out of the car, and trot along on walks with no problem at all. Most of my days are spent hanging out indoors with the freedom to roam, and my favorite spot at night is curled up on my human’s bed. I’m not used to being left alone for long stretches, so I’d be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time. I’ve lived without a fenced yard, but I dream of having one—some space to sniff and sunbathe would make me so happy. I do enjoy the company of other dogs, though sometimes I keep to myself. Cats? I’m a bit aloof with them, but I won’t cause any trouble. Children, on the other hand, I’m friendly with—I don’t mind their company at all. I’m house trained, leash trained, and a pretty quiet, chill guy overall. My favorite things? Leisurely walks, cozy couch snuggles, and just being near my people. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion with a gentle soul, I might just be your guy.

Story
My kids and I fell in love with him at the human society. He was so scared and anxious we had to walk backwards into the room and he was shivering in the corner for almost an hour. At one point he finally came near and touched one of my kids but that was it. We found out he was abandoned, probably abused, had a microchip but not registered and was found stuck in a chain link fence. He still had open wounds on his front legs when we met him. He is scared of men and very reactive when he sees them, barking and running all around frantic. He is great with kids and women after he meets them but scared for the first 10 minutes and needs training. We tried puppy Prozac for 2 years for his anxiety and it didn’t seem to help. He is scared to go on walks and will only go right outside the house to use the bathroom or run inside a fence. He loves snuggles so much!! He will sleep with you all night and not move once. He loves my children and has never been aggressive with them.

Story
Meet Luna, a sweet and loyal 5-year-old looking for the right forever home. She’s playful and expressive — whether she’s rolling over for belly rubs, “talking” when she’s excited, or soaking up the sunshine. She loves fetch, walks, and naps in her crate, and she’s smart, food-motivated, and well-mannered in the home (house-trained, no counter surfing, gentle with her toys). She has gone through many rounds of training and knows many commands. Luna thrives with a calm, consistent structure with people she knows and trusts. She does well with other dogs after slow introductions but can be protective on leash or when strangers approach, so a quieter environment is best. She’d love a fenced yard, patient owners, and a home without small kids. She’s up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and takes meds that help her feel more comfortable. With the right patient family who understands her needs, Luna will be the most loyal, affectionate companion you could ask for.
