Angels Rescue of North Texas
About Our Rescue Group
Betty Wiley founded Angel’s Rescue after she became concerned by the plight of dogs abandoned at a local lake and began feeding them. Eventually, she was able to catch some of the dogs and find homes for them. Most of our dogs are either rescued from the lake, strays or from local animal shelters.
Angel’s Rescue is a small non-profit 501(c)3 group comprised of volunteers who dedicate themselves to rescuing dogs. We are a “no–kill” rescue group, operating solely on donations. We do not receive any type of government or institutional funding
Come Meet our Pets
We do not have a shelter facility. Each of us foster dogs in our homes. Adoptions can be done during the week at the foster familys convenience or we hold adoptions on Saturday (12-5) at the Petco in Cedar Hill on FM 1382 off Hwy 67 and on some Saturdays at the Petco in Mansfield off Fm157 (South Cooper) and Hwy 287
Our Adoption Process
***Adopting a New Friend:Our adoption process consists of filling out a pre-adoption questionnaire, which is then reviewed by the foster parent. An interview will then be scheduled. If approved, then the adoption contract will be signed and the adoption fee paid. We do not ship dogs.***Adoption Fee Includes: Between $100 or $350 depending on the type of dog (the reason for this is due to the vet work that goes into some animals. We may have a puppy that gets adopted for $100.00 but we have spent $300.00 on it. The more desirable dogs help to cover this expense. We don't make a profit by getting a higher adoption fee on some dogs, as some people would think. We always have very high vet bills at numerous vets in the area). *Vet records *Age appropriate shots *Heartworm preventive up to date(if dog is heartworm positive, they will be treated) *Spaying/Neutering *Any other vet care needed while in our care *Any training given while in our care
***Our Policy. Each of our dogs is adopted as an indoor family pet, not as a outdoor watchdog, a breeding dog, or a fighting dog. Each adopted animal must be spayed/neutered, even full breed or pedigreed animals. This is not an optional procedure, and it is mandated by city ordinances. The full adoption process is required for each applicant. Adopters are expected to keep their new pet current on all vaccinations, heartworm prevention, & other vet care as needed. Our adoption process usually includes a home visit to insure there is adequate provisions made to insure the safety of the animal, including outside shelter and fences around the home that are in good condition. The adopted animal is usually delivered to the new family at the time the home visit is performed.
***In some cases, we will take pets back if they are no longer able to stay in your home. Depending on the space and availability of foster home.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog
or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from
a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
