We serve Austin and surrounding counties as best we can. Since we are a small rescue and there are only 2 of us at present to foster animals, we are limited in the amount of animals we can help at any given time.
Charity's Animal Rescue & Shelter was formed because there is a great need for us in our area. There is no shelter in Austin county at this time. Folks living outside of city limits are told to shoot animals that they consider to be a nuisance. We take in abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted dogs and cats. They are all vet checked, treated for illnesses, assess their personalities and put them up for adoption.
Our Adoption Process:
Our adoption fees include vaccinations, intestinal and heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention and spay/neuter. Spay/neuter is NOT an option. It must be done in order to adopt an animal from us. Our normal adoption fee is $90 - $150.00. There is an adoption application that everyone is required to fill out. If you are approved, then there is an adoption contract to be signed. Home visits may be performed at any time before, during or after an adoption has taken place. We also make multiple phone calls after an adoption to make sure things are going well.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
