Our Adoption Process:

Some animals currently being held at the facility are not available at this time, there is a five day wait in case an owner comes forth to claim said animal.

There is an application process for all adoptions.

If you rent an apartment, you must have a letter, lease, or provide us a phone number of your landlord confirming that you have permission to adopt, and if there are restrictions as to size, or breed, that must also be included in said letter.

All animals must be spayed/neutered after leaving our shelter, it is state law and we do follow up.

Proof must be presented to Animal Control within thirty (30) days of the adoption date. {unless it is kittens, or puppies, where you will be provided a future date on contract, to complete the procedure of neuter, or spay}
When proof is provided, we keep it on record.

For cats and kittens, a $25.00 fee is required at the time of adoption.

It is required prior to adoption a pre-pay spay/neuter deposit must be obtained through a vet of your choice or a pre-pay spay/neuter deposit at a lower cost through East Bay Animal Hospital.

Our number is 401-435-7675, please call if you have any questions.

We would always appreciate a donation toward any medical expenses and dog and cat supplies needed and will be thankful for your generosity toward the animals at our shelter :}

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
